- A: AnswerTo further add to this question, based on some of the responses...If the protection plan went up because of the amount of claims/returns AND the cost of the controllers apparently went up by about 10-15.00 I’m sorry but that is absolute BS. These controllers are built so poorly and substandard and there is not even a repair option. I have a total of 6 controllers in my household. I used them with great care. All 6 are broken. Plastic components on the left joystick and bumper buttons Every time. I understand Best Buy needs to cover themselves but if they are hacking up costs on both the plans and the controller costs Microsoft sure better be. Using higher quality parts. Increasing costs while maintaining crap quality isn’t right. And with this product unfortunately the consumer has little choice. If you’ve experienced similar issues please take the time and let Microsoft know hopefilully they change and improve these controller designs
