Michael Winterbottom's rock & roll biopic, 24 Hour Party People, comes to DVD with a widescreen anamorphic transfer that preserves the original theatrical aspect ratio of 1.85:1. The closed-captioned English soundtrack is rendered in Dolby Digital 5.1. English, Spanish, French, and Portuguese subtitles are accessible. Supplemental materials include a commentary track recorded by lead actor Steve Coogan and producer Andrew Eaton, a second commentary track recorded by Tony Wilson (who is portrayed by Coogan in the film), a pair of featurettes, the original theatrical trailer, and a still photo gallery. This is an excellent disc from MGM/UA.

A great story for fans of Joy Division, New Order, Happy Mondays, the Hacienda, and 80s/90s punk/dance/rave culture - all told in a quirky British style through the eyes of Tony. Recommended!
