    Synopsis

    Critters 2: The Main Course
Critters 2: The Main Course is the sequel to the highly enjoyable horror comedy Critters. The people of the Kansas town first menaced by the little, furry creatures find that they are not yet safe as they are again assaulted when the creatures reproduce. Charlie (Don Opper) is joined by Lee (Roxanne Kernohan) as all join forces to save the town. The special effects, particularly the ""critters" are again, superb, but the direction by Mick Garris is less self-assured than in the original feature. While still enjoyable, Critters 2 is not nearly as much fun as the original, but still well worth a view. ~ Linda Rasmussen, Rovi

    Critters 3
The third in the tongue-in-cheek horror series liberally cribbed from Gremlins (1984) features an early performance from future heartthrob Leonardo DiCaprio and was filmed simultaneously with its follow-up. This time out, it's an urban family who picks up one of the fast-multiplying beasties while on vacation, although they are warned by Charlie (Don Opper), a veteran of the creatures' earlier attacks. Once widower Clifford (John Calvin) and his kids Annie (Annie Brooks) and Johnny (Christian and Joseph Cousins) return home to their apartment building, the critter begins to reproduce, and the tenement becomes overrun with diminutive, hungry killers. The first to go is cruel superintendent Frank (Geoffrey Blake), but others soon follow, including the unscrupulous landlord, whose son Josh (DiCaprio) finds romance with Annie. With the appearance of the resourceful Charlie and the heroics of Clifford, the critters' days are soon numbered. Critters 3 was directed by Kristine Peterson, a veteran of the Roger Corman school of no-budget genre filmmaking. ~ Karl Williams, Rovi

    Critters 4
Sent directly to video, the fourth installment in the Critters series picks up the action with Charlie (Don Keith Opper) about to destroy the last of the critter eggs. A holographic apparition warns him, however, that every species must be preserved by galactic law; the eggs are transported into deep space, and Charlie is accidentally carted along, beginning yet another freaky adventure. ~ John Bush, Rovi

    Critters
Critters, an amusing horror comedy directed byStephen Herek, is the story of a family menaced by eight basketball sized creatures from outer space who arrive at their Kansas farm in search of food. Helen Brown (Dee Wallace Stone) and Brad (Scott Grimes), owners of the farm find themselves held hostage as the creatures roll, jump and bounce around during the night. They are pursued by a pair of inept, intergalactic bounty hunters, Charlie (Don Keith Opper) and Johnny (Terrence Mann) who can shape-shift at will and are packing weapons capable of taking care of any creature they encounter. The special effects of this humorous thriller are extremely good and the creatures themselves have distinct and separate personalities. ~ Linda Rasmussen, Rovi

I really liked the first three critters movies the most and four was alright except for the change in character of the alien bounty hunters, The special effects of the first two were fantastic, more specifically the graphic change of the alien bounty hunter and the look of the critters and their eggs. The chiodo brothers did a wonderful job in using their imaginations to create the story and the characters in these critters movies.

Sure, these movies aren't classics, but considering they are blatant GREMLINS knockoffs that managed 4 installments, they are all completely watchable and great for a lazy sunday of PG-13 carnage and camp. You won't be disappointed, and at the super low prince for all four movies, you can't beat it. I'm hoping these come to blu-ray soon - worth the double dip!

I've loved these movies since I was a kid (particularly the first two). They're silly and campy, but they're a good time. Easily one of the best Gremlin copycat movies that came out around that time. This is a great set to get all four movies.

Since the blurays still haven't been released for these, I picked up all four for only 7.99. The first two are worth the price of admission alone and are of very decent quality for DVD.

These films were something we watched all the time; not because they won an academy award for sure. I gave them as a gift and my brother was really glad to have them.

These movies are a staple of 80’s horror. If you like movies about cute and cuddly little alien monsters, this is the set to buy.

Watched the first Critters as a kid, can't go wrong with this set, despite the cheese factor.
