Description

Director Makoto Shinkai's heartfelt animated drama tells the tale of two close friends separated by chance, and reunited by determination. As schoolchildren, Tono Takaki and Shinohara Akari were inseparable. But shortly after graduating elementary school, their families each moved and the distance between them grew. Despite the fact that each worried they would never see the other again, Takaki and Akari never lost touch. Later, Takaki decides to pay a visit to Akari, and sets out on the road that leads to his old friend. This is the story of Takaki and Akari as told in three parts: From the perspective of both friends, as well as the vantage point of those they both meet along the way.~Jason Buchanan

I finally got around to watching Your Name, another film by Makoto Shinkai and immediately set out to acquire and watch all of his other films. His movies are beautiful both from the way they are presented to the stories that they tell.

I had watched this film on the anime service crunchyroll. Really loved the film that I just had to have it! Very moving and sad towards the end with where all the characters ended up. But definitely recommend this film.

Makoto Shinkai is currently the best director of anime feature films. This movie is as good as his other films and must add to any anime collection.

Thats tough to say. Even though this is a beautiful movie, its like saying Dreamworks is the next Disney. It just can't be. I highly recommend the movie though.

This is a series of short stories that had me scratching my head trying to figure out what it was about. Definitely needs multiple viewing to really digest the story. Beautiful art. Still very enjoyable
