I have always loved the 35mm g lens. This is a huge improvement especially when paired with the z6. They definitely belong together. It's very light weight. The autofocus and great and so silent compared to the the g lens with the ftz adapter. I have to admit the price is not so friendly right now and this is the most expensive lens I have ever purchased but i am sure it will last me many years. The bokeh on this lens is fantastic. It's would i would imagine a 1.4 works like. I purchased this for when I travel because I like to capture a bit more for when I take landscape pictures. I would not recommend this if you are looking to take portraits. If you're just starting photography then maybe look into getting the 50mm. It's a lot more budget friendly.

I was hesitant to purchase this lens because of online reviews. I finally bit the bullet because I needed something that was wider and lighter than my 50mm S lens for a recent trip. It’s IMO the perfect travel prime lens. Great for all occasions during my travel. My images are sharp, just as you expect from an S lens. I regret not purchasing this lens sooner.

Already have the NIKKOR AF-S DX 35mm f/1.8G for my previous DSLR, so wanted to get the same prime when I switched to Z-mount system. I think the focal length, aperture, minimum shooting distance, and low light capability is good for most uses. Examples are handmade Colombian bags shot with the Nikon Z 35 mm f/1.8 under basic lighting set up.
