This is the first “prime lens” I’ve purchased for my Nikon ZF, I thought it was a little expensive considering it’s a 1.8 lens. Anyway.. I’m really glad I purchased it. I’ve kept it mounted on my camera since the day i bought it. The lens has a lot of character. Bokeh is very pleasing and to my eyes has the classic vintage style swirls. It is a little on the heavy side but not a burden to carry all day. It balances well on the ZF if you have the small rig grip. This lens focuses quickly, silently and accurately.. especially with the newer Z bodies. The lens is weather sealed and dust resistant. I wouldn’t try to get it drenched but I think it’ll be fine in light rain. The 50mm lens is in my opinion a good focal length for most uses and it won’t completely destroy a background if you shoot it wide open. I love this lens and I think you will also. In fact, I love this lens so much that I sold off my other camera body and lenses because this lens has become my go to for my personal photo work.

This lens is amazing! A lot of people would write it off simply because it’s a f 1.8 but the optics are superb. If you really dig into it you’ll find the MTF charts are very similar to the amazing 55 Ziess Otus but the Nikon is smaller and has AF. The sharpness and contrast on this lens is mind blowing even at 1.8 with very well controlled chromatic aberration. Also there is little to no focus breathing so I also use this lens for video a lot . If you just bought into the Z system or looking at jump into it this lens is a must. It’s the cheapest prime lens available for the system currently but it’s such a huge value when understanding the optical qualities. A lot of professional photographers preach about faster primes but I’ve found that I’m reaching for the Z lenses over any of the Sigma Art and or any of the older F mount lenses in particular this 50mm.

A very sharp, fast lens with a solid build. Great for all around use -- portraits, street photography, and landscapes. I wouldn't be without it.

Amazing lens in low light! Game changer. Works great for portraits. I did some indoor Christmas tree photos with my dogs and it was so sharp and great bokeh

Amazingly sharp prime lens. I've used the older Nikon 50mm 1.8s when I had a D300 and D7200. Those lens were okay , albeit also they were 75mm when on a APS-C sized sensor so they required a bit more spacing between the camera and subject. This is my first time using a 50mm on a full frame Nikon Z6II and I am super happy with the results so far. Used it in CO for astrophotography and it was great. I know 50mm isn't too popular for that field, but I was very happy with the results. The only downside as others have mentioned is that is is a little larger than the average 50mm lens. If you want a little more compact, maybe check out the 40mm f2 lens.

This lens is a game changer. Photo quality is unbelievable. If you’re an amateur photographer this is going to step your game up ten-fold. Pictures are super crisp and life-like. The build quality of this lens is also superb for the pricepoint.

I had so many different lenses and most off them more expensive than this one But this one has big difference and the auto focus more faster specially in the video If u planing to get a very good lens for pictures or videos for your nikon z or nikon AF that will be the best choice , I love it

I love this lens. I use it for fashion and regular portraits. I'm very happy with it. It is a much lighter lens than the carrying around a g lens with the f to z adapter. It works excellent with my nikon z6. It's a very versatile lens for taking landscape pictures as well. My only wish is that nikon makes more compact lens. If fuji cameras can do it i don't see why nikon can't.

Autofocus is fast, accurate, and quiet, and it works flawlessly with eye detection on my Z7 II. Low-light performance is excellent too, and I’ve had zero issues shooting indoors or at night.

This is fast lens that produces crisp pictures. I mostly take videos and pictures of my grandchildren and I don't find the fixed focal lens much of a constraint. On the other hand having shallow depth of field is wonderful for portraits and videos. Very high quality. The added pictures have been compressed but the dimensions have not been changed.

Item was delivered in a day. This lens is exceptional in every way. Photos are sharp and have good contrast. Focus ring is smooth to operate. Bit expensive for a 50 1.8 but worth every penny.

I no longer own this because I swapped to a 24-70mm f2.8. But this lens provided everything I needed to walk around and get the shot. Sure it doesn’t have zoom and it is a 1.8 for $600, but if you move your feet and take the photo you are going to be amazed. Easily this is the best 50mm I have ever used, the colors you get with Nikon are amazing, the sharpness for this lens is great. It can’t be beat unless you buy faster glass that suit your needs. For a first lens you should buy it.
