A: No, it is powered by USB which means it comes with everything you need in the box already for it to work on the PS5!
Q: Do you need to update the headset when you get it in order to use it
A: no. however if you plan on using the Astro command center program then you may need to update the firmware for that program and the headset. So simply put out of the box its ready to go. Just plug and play.
Q: Do these provide surround sound? I couldn’t find anything regarding that
A: No surround sound with these.
Q: Will these support 3D audio as well or will they not support it?
A: If you're asking this question in regards to playing FPS games or getting a better sound of your environment. The answer is yes, I play MW with this and I can hear footsteps at max volume from a couple of feet away in any direction, above, and below me.
Q: Do these work with Xbox series S?
A: There should be astro a20s for xbox, the would come in a green box and have green accents instead of blue.
Q: If I'm wearing headset can I let others in room hear
A: Not at the same time but if you change your output audio setting then the sound can just play from your speakers for the time and then you can switch it back

Could be better
The sound is good. The connectivity is good. My two issues with the headphones is the volume roller is in a terrible spot if you move your head you will ultimately adjust the volume up or down. Last issue is when you don’t want to use the headphones you have to disconnect the dongle.

Affordable top tier headset
Amazing headset, I’ve bought this headset 4 times now with 2 of them being the Xbox version. Have a pair each for myself and then I bought my brother a pair of each for his consoles. Super comfortable for long (8+hrs). Has a great mic and even better audio. Super great value for the price of this headset, have owned my pair for over 2years and have never had a single issue
