Q: What is the expected battery life while connected to Wifi?
A: 3-6 months
Q: Does this device use fingerprint or palm print?
A: None. We recommend any of the Assure 2 TOUCH for the fingerprint feature.
Q: Does it lock automatically when you close the door?
A: You’re able to set the option to auto lock after a certain amount of time through the app. I forget all the time options but I remember there was a 60 second option for it to auto lock if left open.
Q: cant this be used for front door with no protection from the weather
A: Thank you for your question. It is not advisable to install the lock on the exterior door without a cover as it is not weatherproof. If you have additional questions, please reach out to [email protected] or 855.213.5841.
Q: What happens when the battery dies?
A: Hi - The lock will alert you (via an icon on the keypad, the app and email) for a couple of weeks before this happens, but if that does happen, you can hold a 9V battery to the emergency terminal under the keypad, enter your code and get inside to change the batteries. The lock also has a back-up key for emergencies.

Security and Peace of Mind
We have installed more than 4 Yale Assure 2 locks. The set up for them is relatively straight forward. The app is very reliable. Though we only recently installed this lock, the only curious thing about the ones I have installed is that the battery life though reasonable - more than three months - seems to be somewhat short. It may be due to notifications (the door is ajar, opened, closed, unlocked, locked). This is also one of the best features. We always know when the doors are locked/unlocked and by whom. You can also lock or unlock your door for guesses during an event at your home. If you ever forget to lock your doors, you can easily know the status (locked/unlocked) by looking at your app which can be added to your Home on the Apple IOS platform. The only concern I had was that on the instruction it stated that that the handles had to be installed with the slots in one side, when they actually were to be installed differently. Installing them as stated in the instructions would have had the lever handles facing the door jam, where the door opens and shuts, instead of away from the door jam. The only reason I knew to ignore this was by experience - though I second guessed myself for about 20 minutes before switching the levers.

Good lock
Easy to install and easy to use. Good option to have a key backup but isn’t needed if you monitor the battery life of the lock. Had the lock installed for about 2 weeks and the battery only went down to 90% with the lock being frequently locked/unlocked with everyone coming going throughout the day. Notifications through the app are convenient to know who unlocks the door and if/when door is locked/unlocked. Very convenient.

Exactly as described. Recommended. Provides access without a key and good when traveling to allow family access to your home when needed
