Samsung - 55" Class U7900 Series UHD 4K Smart Tizen TV (2025)

I am still getting the hang of my new Samsung 55" TV. Its Smart Tizen operating system is different from that of my other Samsung TV. My enjoyment of that TV gave rise to the current purchase, where undeniably there is a learning arc yet to be traveled. That said, this TV seems to actively thwart channel surfing. The interface is cluttered and difficult to navigate. It forever leaves me without a full picture of what is available to be watched, particularly disappointing where Samsung TV Plus is concerned. Program loading runs the gamut from pokey to minutes-long. I am adapting by learning what is on prior to power up and, once at a channel, am inclined to stay, even to the point of suffering through commercials. (Thank God there is still a mute feature.) AT&T delivers to me ultra fast fiber optic internet speed, so I discount connection issues as an important cause of any slowness. That said, I think my Samsung 55" Class U7900 Series UHD 4K TV is worth the $302 I paid Best Buy to have it appear at my doorstep. The picture is large and decent, and I do enjoy watching it.

I picked this up to replace a 50-inch Samsung that’s about nine years old, and it’s clear the brand hasn’t lost its touch. The picture quality is excellent, with rich colors and a noticeably improved interface compared to older models. The panel isn’t the brightest on the market, but it still performs well in daylight, even with some glare. The redesigned remote is simpler and more intuitive, which pairs well with the TV overall. My only real complaint is that the interface can feel sluggish. It’s not a deal-breaker, but it’s something I don’t typically notice on other TVs in this price range. Overall, it’s a strong upgrade with a few quirks, but nothing that overshadows the solid performance. It would easily earn five stars if the interface weren’t packed with ads and sponsored content. Pairing it with a streaming device or a console and setting the TV to power on to the last used input bypasses most of the UI issues, leaving you with a well-priced panel that performs reliably.

I am extremely impressed with the Samsung 55" U7900 Series! The picture quality is outstanding—crisp 4K detail, vibrant colors, and excellent brightness make movies and sports look incredible. The upscaling is surprisingly good too, so even older content looks sharp. The Tizen interface is fast, intuitive, and packed with apps. Switching between streaming services is seamless, and the remote is simple and responsive. Sound quality is better than I expected for a slim TV, and pairing it with my soundbar via HDMI-ARC was effortless. The design is modern and sleek, and it fits perfectly in my living room. Setup was quick, and the TV automatically recognized my connected devices. Overall, this is an amazing value for a 2025 model—great performance, great features, and great picture quality. Highly recommended!
