A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving [DVD]

A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving is probably a lesser entry when it comes to Peanuts holiday features. Technically the DVD is fine, and fans should be quite happy with the overall package. Peanuts animation had become more advanced by the time of this feature, when compared against It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown and A Charlie Brown Christmas, but the title does seem to lack a certain artistic flare. The colors have stood the test of time better than those on the earlier features; the picture is never less than bright and the visuals never less than bold. All dialogue and sound effects come across perfectly. The main menu allows viewers to select A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving or "The Mayflower Voyages," a 24-minute bonus feature. A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving perhaps doesn't achieve the classic status of A Charlie Brown Christmas and It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown, but it's still a worthwhile DVD for Peanuts fans and a slice of quality Thanksgiving programming.
