Description
As originally broadcast on the BBC, this ambitious ten-part documentary series finds broadcaster, archaeologist and presenter Neil Oliver emceeing a panoramic overview of the 2,000 year history of Scotland - from the initial formation of a Scotch identity around the time of Christ's birth, through the devolution and re-launch of the Scottish parliament in the late 1990s. Along the way, the program etches out compelling biographical profiles of such quintessentially Scottish characters as Robert the Bruce, William Wallace and Sir Walter Scott, and explores events including the Darien disaster and the emergence of the tobacco lords. Bonus features include a two-part documentary feature hosted by Dan Snow called How the Celts Saved Britain, and a 24-page color booklet with various facts and pictures of Scottish landmarks.
