I adore this movie! One of my favorite Kevin Costner movies. It has a lot of heart.

Had to own it. Remember watching it with my dad whenever it came on TV when I was a kid.

Jailbreak and hostage movie set in the 1950's. Kevin Costner was good as always.

A Perfect World: Excellent Kevin Costner movie! But, gruesome!

Really good film directed by the great Clint Eastwood. He also plays a role in it, though he is more of a side character. The real stars are Kevin Costner and whoever plays the boy. Butch (Costner) is an escaped convict that ends up taking the boy hostage, Eastwood is a U.S. Marshall trying to bring him in. Fairly simple story but some crazy things happen and the characters, particularly Butch, have some real complexities. As usual, Eastwood brings out the best in actors in his films. Worth your time to watch!

I bought this movie because a friend had never heard of it, and when I described the plot, he was instantly interested. I definitely wanted add this movie to my collection, and to share it with my friend, as well as, with family members. It is a moving story of the unlikely bond developed by an escaped convict and a boy who happens to be Jehovah's Witness.

You put Kevin Costner and Clint Eastwood together as bad guy/good guy, then add a brand new, talented and promising child star and head off on a getaway road trip with cool nostalgic cars and what is not to like?
