    A Walk to Remember
The best-seller by sentimental novelist Nicholas Sparks becomes this teen melodrama set in a coastal North Carolina port. Cocky, popular high school student Landon Carter (Shane West) is the big man on campus at Beaufort High School until a hazing incident leaves a fellow student paralyzed. Sentenced to community service and membership in his school's drama club, Landon is forced to seek help from Jamie Sullivan (pop singer Mandy Moore), the conservative, religious, plain-Jane daughter of the town's Baptist minister (Peter Coyote). When the two students begin to fall in love, Landon struggles with the drop in popularity that his new friendship brings, while Jamie is forced to deal with her strict father and a secret that she's keeping from her schoolmates. A Walk to Remember, which co-stars Daryl Hannah, is the second of Sparks's novels to make it to the big screen after Message in a Bottle (1999). ~ Karl Williams, Rovi

      Cute But Predictable

I love Shane West and I love Mandy Moore, but I did not love this movie. It was alright, but I predicted all the main things that would happen to happen early on. It's pre-The Notebook. It does give multiple messages to teens that anything is possible. The seemingly most cool guy in school could fall for the unnoticed plain Jane. And some events could be life-changing, and there's nothing you can do about it but endure. I find more issues with the plot than the acting, because Mandy Moore herself has the perfect homely girl personality for this role. She's beautiful and has the willpower to escape the hype of extraoridinary glamor and wildness. Shane West is the bad boy that everyone would want to see in his most emotional state. I wouldn't recommend it though. You'd be fine without it. Analyzing it was more fun than actually watching it.

I love this movie. I have watched "A Walk To Remember", over and over again. The first five times I watched it was on HBO. I had to own it. I know I have watched it over 30 times since I purchased it. I never get tired of watching it. It is my all time favorite. Because of it I have purchased a lot of Mandy Moore's movies, (Chasing Liberty, Saved, How to Deal, Because I Said So, Princess Diaries, just to name a few). Shane West and Mandy Moore are two kids from different worlds who fall in love. Her faith in him makes he believe he can do anything. The love they shared in this movie is unconditional love. This is a beautiful coming of age love story, however, beware it will make your eyes tear up. This is a great movie.....Innocent love.......

      Well-written, very sweet movie

This movie has always been one of my favorite movies. It lacks the profanity most movie tend to have. It's also based on a book by my favorite author, but I was only 5 years old when the movie came out, so I had yet to read the book, but still loved it. Mandy Moore's acting is slightly robotic sometimes and some of the lines could be less cheesy, I suppose. Although, even though they're a little cheesy, they're still kinda sweet--I must admit. Plus, Shane West is amazing. Always has been, always will be.

      A memorable walk

what made this walk so memorable was not just the great storyline, or the was the beginning of a friendship between my heterosexual lifemate jordy and I. as we embarked into the theater with our tub of popcorn and our box of tissues we had no idea what we were in store for. the plot was original; a badboy and a christian girl with cancer who developed a strange love for one another. they faced several obstacles along the way, but they showed that their love could conquer anything...except cancer.

I absolutely love this movie. It has a great storyline that is so creative and sweet. It's definately my favorite chick flick and is ranked pretty high on my list of favorite movies. It's all about the pastor's daughter(Mandy Moore) who has cancer. She's an outcast in her school, and eventually the most popular guy in school falls in love with her beautiful soul. After falling in love with her, his heart is stolen because she dies. It was really, really sad. But still an amazing movie.

Great movie in need of an actual US release

So this is an international bare bones release. And when I say bare bones, I mean it doesn't even come with a menu or any subtitles. The transfer is decent, and an upgrade over the DVD, but the complete lack of any special features may mean folks will want to either get the DVD, or stick with their DVD copy and wait for a better BD release.

one of my favorite chick flicks

This is a classic Nicholas Sparks novel turned movie. It has a great plot: a pastor's daughter played by Mandy Moore has leukemia; Shane West's character Landon falls in love with Mandy Moore and undergoes a personal transformation throughout the movie. It has a sad ending, yet is an amazing and inspiring movie.

I liked this movie because it had a great plot. Its all about a girl who has cancer and is an outcast at her high school. She falls in love with this popular guy and then this movie becomes a bitter sweet romantic movie. It's a beautiful movie and it has a sad ending. Bring out the box of tissues.
