Q: How does this attach to the laptop? Magnets or?
A: This has rubber bands that sit on the top and it gently squeezes the sides with other pads. No clue or magnets that can damage your screen
Q: Would this fit with an Acer 17.3inch screen?
A: No. I have the same size hp laptop

A: Yes
Q: Does it have the kick stand to keep it from tilting back?
A: Yes it does as well as provide extra support. I'm currently not using the kick stand and it seems to be holding up.

A: Yes. There is a driver preloaded in the monitors and should be loaded automatically.
A: It would be best to remove from the laptop and fold for travel. It comes with a cover to place it in once folded. So you will have the laptop, folded assembly and cords. I travel with my setup through airports as a carry on with no issues.
