Enjoying my Acer
|Posted .This laptop is a great fit for me. I thought it would be hard to use because there were new functions that were not on my old laptop. But I'm happy with the product and it was an out of the box purchase so I was a little nervous about that. Things are great and working just fine. I'd like to thank the wonderful associates at Best Buy. They were very helpful and patient with me. Thank you.

Nice solid laptop
|Posted .I would recommend this to a friendVery good laptop. Needed it because my other current one decided it didn't like the internet anymore. The touch screen is really nice. The computing power has been surprisingly nice, making multitasking really easy. Battery life is incredible. I often use it for 8hrs + and can still sit down and do stuff when I get home. Good connections to internet and Bluetooth. Keyboard is comfortable, and while the touch pad would be just a little better if a little more centered so you don't accidentally rest your hand on it, it isn't often a problem. The only problem I have been having with the computer is the fact that sometimes when I put it to sleep and come back, the mouse won't respond until I restart the computer. While that may just need an update or something, it has been fairly annoying.

Fantastic no-frills laptop
Posted .I would recommend this to a friendAs long as you're not looking to wow people with its looks or with crazy viewing angles or audio quality, then this is probably one of the best PCs you can buy for under $500, and would likely take on some laptops that cost twice as much in the performance area if you were to add some RAM to it. This thing flies through just about anything I throw at it, and even played some of the games I've thrown at it with medium-esque settings. There's practically no lag in using this great Core i5 computer. The build quality is nice, very simple black matte finish all around, which keeps the fingerprints to a minimum, and the keyboard feels unexceptional but nice and is spaced well enough to keep you accurate. The touch screen is very responsive, the hinge on it is really tight which helps it take touches without too much buckling, and the trackpad is a good size and functions nice enough as well. The screen quality is average. The straight-on image is fairly well colored and contrasted, but even a slight deviation vertically in the viewing angle heavily distorts the colors and contrast, and while the horizontal angle is more forgiving, it's still not great. The screen gets plenty bright, though, even though I had read a couple of reviews that said otherwise. Trust me, it gets REALLY bright at max settings. I have been operating it comfortably indoors with the brightness at about 30 percent. As I said, the laptop is simple but effective in design. It's not going to win any flash awards but as a productivity device with a little fun thrown it it seems like it would fit the bill for most people aside from hardcore gamers. For under $500, this thing is a steal in terms of performance and functionality. Highly recommended unless you MUST have the nicest screen on the block, which might be fairly important for some people but not really for me, or the prettiest chassis, the which seems like the absolute least important thing in my opinion about a laptop if you are at all concerned about doing any real work with it. I have not been using it for very long but it's averaging 6-6.5 hours on its battery. Very pleased!

Great for ordinary household computer tasks.
|Posted .I would recommend this to a friendGreat computer for ordinary household tasks, such as surfing the Internet, emailing, writing documents, storing picture and music, and doing household finances, including investing and planning for retirement. The computer has a 15.6" screen, a 500G hard disk, and 4G of RAM. Also there are 3 UBS ports.

Like a Bug with a V-8 Under the Hood
Posted .I would recommend this to a friendI was in the market for a 2-1; started out with the Microsoft Surface 2 problems from the beginning, the thing wouldn't even charge, I called tech support and was told sorry we have no solution for you, so I returned it and got a Lenovo Yoga 2 i3, again problems from the beginning, when the unit was in stand, tent or tablet mode when you would try to sign in, the keypad or keyboard would just disappear right when you were about to touch the screen, like it was messing with you. I called Lenovo tech support and again no answer or solution all they could say was looks like you are waiting for an update from Microsoft, no, I don't think so. I was looking at the Best Buy website, found this machine, went in to buy it got it home and wow was I not impressed with the outside; however the inside gleamed like gold and I have had no issues as of yet, no disappearing keyboard/pad, it was charging and boy was the i5 fast for the budget I was working with. You can upgrade the RAM to 16 GB (Doesn't look easy to access), as they say, the speakers and screen are nothing to write home about,(screen is HD and the screen almost lies flat, which I love) this machine is sufficient for my needs and the budget I was working with. I recommend this machine for anyone who isn't a hardcore gamer, I have my PS4 for that. Great machine for the money :)

Good Computer
|Posted .I would recommend this to a friendIt definitely took some getting used to. The touch screen is great, but finding the location of certain things is beyond difficult, and the manual didn't shed any light on that. It took some trial and error, but I figured out what where things were located. My only real complaint is that my internet connection is considerably slower when I access it through the touch screen instead of the home screen. Not really sure why that would be, but at least four times as slow. Overall a good computer for the money.

A good work horse
|Posted .I would recommend this to a friendIt took me a little while to learn to navigate this laptop since it was almost 5 years since I purchased my previous one and not everything is completely user friendly. Now that I know it better it is great for my work and private life. The navigation/mouse pad can be a bit annoying but I have come to enjoy the touch screen function. I tend to access and keep open several webpages at the same time and that doesn't always agree with the computer but I can have several documents open at the same time without issues.

Good looking laptop.
|Posted .I would recommend this to a friendNext nearest competitor was HP, but Acer produced a good looking sleek designed product that delivers. Very little heat produced from the heat sinks and long battery life as stated. Crisp video. One drawback was not having an internal DVD writer.
Q: Questioncan I buy the above P.C. with DVD?
Asked by goldust.
- A:Answer You can not but the cd drive already installed, however you can purchase one and pay them to install it. They will most likely suggest that you buy a portable one.

- A:Answer Any quality memory with these specifications : 204-Pin SO-DIMM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) @ 1.35V Research this laptop as upgrading the memory is not for the faint of heart.

Q: QuestionIs it good for gamesI'm looking for a laptop that is good with games. Any lag
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer I would not suggest this for a gamer. I bought 2 of this as gifts for my friends. I thought I'd impress them by upgrading the memory to 16GB or at least 8GB. I have 4 4GB sticks from my personal upgrade. It has 2 memory banks that are hidden underneath all the parts. You will need to take all the screws out keyboard & monitor out, HDD out, mother board out, FAN & heat sink out. Only then you will have access to memory banks. If you are not a brave heart. you will faint while you take out those cable connections in the process. If you only play pack man or Zelda and okay with the specs that are listed, then you can go ahead with this product. If you are a die hard Gamer then look for the following: - i7 processor or equivalent - 4 memory banks with motherboard that supports 32 GB ram - Potentially SSD HDD - At least NVIDIA 2GB graphics card

Q: QuestionSSD?Hey everyone I have been cleaning up some bloatware and updating windows and drivers. I noticed that the HDD is bottlenecking the i5 and the 4gb RAM. The i5 is on average utilizing at about 30% while the ram barely peak 2.2GB, the HDD however has been 99-100% active. I believe that it is not quick enough for my purpose and would like to know which sata SSD can this laptop take? Thanks
