Great countertop herb garden!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I do a lot of cooking and purchased this to have fresh herbs for my receipes. It is a nice little unit and is easy to mantain. I have only had this about a month but, as promised by the manufacturer, all the herbs have germinated. The basil is really growing, probably over six inches tall, and I have used some in my receipes already. The parsley is growing well and I will use some soon. The dill took the longest and still has quite a ways to go yet. The only improvement I would suggest is that it be just a bit deeper so that the plants are spaced apart more. The larger basil tends to shadow the smaller dill and parsley but not to the point that they don't get any light. Other than that it is a great item and I highly recommend it.

Now we’re cooking!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am an employee of Best Buy and have been able to use the Sprout model in the AeroGarden line. I have owned or tried several models including the 6 pod version as well as the larger more tech. based Farm XL models (12 and 24 pods). What is awesome - Setup could not be easier – as you can see in my pictures, it amazes me how easy and simple setup is but at the same time, it’s still a very technical device - It comes with three pods (one basil, one x, and one y), I ended up purchasing all basil to feed my pesto and pizza habits - I think this is a great option for a smaller space and to complement other AeroGarden models – for example I have a 6 pod model in one spot in my house and the Sprout in my home office - I really like the design; my 10 year old said it best – when he saw it he said, “wow – that’s so modern looking – I like it better than all the other ones you have.” - It has a really small footprint, you can see it next to my laptop for a sense of scale - There are so many cool pod options; they even offer pods that they call “grow anything” and you can use your own seeds; when I get my fill of basil, I look forward to trying some unique seeds Considerations - As in all AeroGardens, the light stays on for a decent amount of time (see picture I included) so you have be conscious where you place it because of the light - Almost all of the pods I have ever used germinate quickly – Once I had a pod that didn’t and AeroGarden holds true to their commitment and sent me a replacement for free

Poor Basil
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. No sign of life from poor Basil on the left, but the other 2 (Parsley & Dill) appear to be thriving!

Q: QuestionCan I use my own seedlings, or does it need to be the pods?
Asked by KayDee.
- A:Answer You can grow anything you want, but you would need their pods for it to work correctly. They sell pod kits where you can plant your own seeds in them, or they sell pod kits with seeds already included.

Q: QuestionThis might be a stupid question but im new to planting and gardening. Does this water itself or do we need to water it?
Asked by Shelby.
- A:Answer You add water to the reservoir and there is a pump in the unit that periodically stirs up the water. Once the plants start growing, they go through quite a bit of water. I have to add water every day.

Q: QuestionWill this increase my electricity bill?
Asked by Vharris.
- A:Answer Let's get real - these days, it's important to have an understanding of how much energy you use. It's the responsible thing to do! We take pride in the low amounts of energy that AeroGardens use. Read on, we did the math for you! To calculate how much energy an AeroGarden uses, we use the following formula: -- The number of hours each day that your AeroGarden is on (based on type of garden planted and AeroGarden type itself), multiplied by -- The wattage figure given above for your model AeroGarden (divided by 1000 to convert it to kilowatts, as used by the electric company), multiplied by -- 31 days a month, multiplied by -- The cost per kilowatt hour charged by your utility (in this case $.11 kw/hour) For example, in a cubicle in one of our office at AeroGrow we are growing Gourmet Herbs (on 17 hours a day) in an AeroGarden Bounty (which uses 48 watts, or 0.048 kilowatts, of power). This AeroGarden is on for 31 days a month, at an average utility rate of approximately $0.11 per kilowatt hour of electricity. AeroGarden Model Wattage Used (Average) Cost to Run Per Month at 11¢ Per kw/hour AeroGarden Farm 126 watts $7.30 per month AeroGarden Bounty 48 watts $2.78 per month AeroGarden Harvest 23 watts $1.33 per month AeroGarden Sprout 13 watts $0.75 per month
