Q: The listing does not show the back of the unit. How many ports and what kinds.
A: It has HDMI 1.4 x 1, VGA, DisplayPort 1.2 x 1, DVI Dual-link Headphone out (3,5mm).
A: There are no built in speakers. I had to buy a new set. I suggest getting something with a sub woofer. This monitor has a great picture so match it with a decent sound system.
Q: does this monitor include any cables?
A: Yes, but only VGA and HDMI. There is no Display Port cable which I had to go out and buy because my laptop doesn't have an HDMI port and you can't run 1440p from VGA.
A: The base is silver. The arm/leg going up to the monitor is black and silver. The monitor (other than the screen) is all black. There is no white anywhere.

A: I use hdmi cord connected to my desktop and it runs just fine with hdmi cord at 75hz
