Pretty Good
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It's a good machine. I bought this as a temp replacement for my Razer Blade Advanced that's now with the Geek Squad unfortunately. It's not as fast as the Razer Blade but its close and I'm not crazy about soldered components but I'll take it over a non-working machine. Here's my experience: Temps: Excellent! Light use (email) results in around temps of 80 F. Medium use (5-6 web browser tabs open, a few applications running, etc) temps are in the range of 100 F - 130 F (about 113-117 F stable with a cooling pad). Maxing out all 6 cores, I saw temps in the range of about 170 F (with a cooling pad). This is the first MBP and first power user laptop that I can actually put in my lap for light to medium use without cooking meat...Nice!!! Battery: No 11 hours yet as Apple advertises. I'm getting about 7+ hours on the light end and about 9+ on the high end. Touch Bar: After a heavy use of multiple applications, the Touch Bar froze and required a kill command through Terminal; not crazy about that. I miss the physical buttons for brightness, volume, etc. Finger Sensor: It's accurate and fast. Very nice integration for logging in and authenticating online and off. Speakers: They're amazing, the best I've ever heard on a laptop in terms of cleanness of sound and loudness. I find myself turning the volume down more than up. The sound cleanses I'd say is the equivalent to a $60 external Bluetooth speaker. Mic: I didn't find it to be cats pajamas as it's advertised to be. It's better than my Samsung Note 9 cellphone quality but not by much. Screen: It's a MBP, always awesome. Greatly enjoying the 16:10 ratio. Keyboard: It's renamed the "magic keyboard" but it's actually the older keyboard before the not liked "Butterfly Keyboard". It feels good for long term typing and sounds good...it always has. No complaints. If you're a Power User and not doing 3D rendering then I would keep with the i7 and upgrade the memory. In retrospect, I should have bumped up to 32 GB as when I'm running full, I'm typically down to 1.5 GB - 2 GB of free memory. My last MBP is now 10 years old and cost around $3,700 for a maxed out 17". That breaks down to about $30.83 a month. If this Mac last as long, then $24 a month is amazing for this caliber of machine for many years to come.

I waited 2 years to finally buy and no regrets!
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is truly more computer than I need, but I like the big screen. It does everything and more than I need it to. My 10 year old Mac still worked well, but it was time to update! This one is much faster!

TRUE TO MAC BRAND
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I don't usually do reviews but let me tell you..., this MacBook Pro is a good purchase. Is it worth its money? All depend on what you value. I returned the Razer - Blade 15.6" Laptop - Intel Core i7 - 16GB Memory - NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 Max-Q - 512GB SSD Add a little money and purchased this Mac. It was a good move for me because I value work flow over performance, (once the performance part has reached an acceptable level) Everyone at my job has Macs. Now.., in the apple ecosystem is where Macs performs their best. Even though it's a lot easier for Mac to connect via bluetooth to non-apple products. I mean.., we can even connect or android phones to Mac now. All of that still can't complete with the convenience air drop, side car, screen-share. If your smart TV is airdrop compatible you can turn your TV in to second or third monitor. On top of that.., the performance is excellent. I'm a video editor at a popular YouTube channel. So this is a high demand environment. We post one video a day..., everyday. From 4k green screen talking heads to a 4 panel talk show runins five cameras shooting 1920by1080. This computers has been flawless. It chops the footage up with no problem. Even with a 5 cameras multiscreen school with motion graphics.., using FCPx..., and DaVinci Resolve.., BUTTER. Now with all that.., it's a computer and not some magical media carpet. Mac issues manifest themselves in different ways. I have experienced the fans ramming up.., and the computer quickly shutting down. This has happened about three times in the first month of using it. The bluetooth has its moments as well. I use the trackpad 2 to edit. I have completely abandoned the mouse because.., it just hurts to use it now. With that.., when the bluetooth connection is good.., it is flawless. Like before, with the fans randomly ramming up resulting in the computer shutting down. The booth tooth connection will start acting up out of no where.., though after a few clicks, and moving the mouse around the screen with my trackpad 2...., the connection picks up and I resume what ever I was doing. Some call it a downside.., using only USB C connections. Well..., technology moves on just like life. Out with the old and in the new. It's not Microsoft's fault that tech companies have to catch up.., Microsoft is completely justified for focusing on the future. Yes.., I had to purchase an additional dongle for my regular usb connectors.., but I don't blame Microsoft for that. I don't like having to put this extra piece of hard on my computer to use older USB 3.0 connectors..., but I also don't mind not having a CD Drive ether.., I mean, there is absolutely no need for a CD or DVD in my work flow. So..., all in all.., this Mac is worth its money, and has completely upgraded my workflow. I give it a five star not because it's perfect.., it's perfect for what I need it for.

Grad school necessity
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So my 2013 MPB started having keyboard trouble. I eventually settled on this 16 in after looking at the air and the 13 in pros. Anyway, I've been having to use my external monitor when writing papers for school and I was tired of having to sit at my desk. I typically read research papers on one screen, type on another, and browse the web on another. On the 13 in the side by side windows were too small and I had to subtly manipulate each window. With the 16 inch, I can have all three windows open to decent sizes, side by side by side. Great for productivity. Everything else is as most online review state - good keyboard, nice speakers, etc. The battery life seems good but it still drains roughly 10% per hour depending on usage. Charging is fast and having the ability to charge on both sides of the laptop is another plus for me. This machine is expensive but I hope to keep it for 10 years! I also plan to get into coding and again setting up side by side windows is great with the amount of stuff you can see. I have the setting to the smallest font so I can see a whole lot on one screen.

Another Great Apple Product
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So obviously what we all do on computers is very different. Now I'm not your typical Apple fan boy because I own windows gaming PC's as well to numerous Apple products. But back onto this machine, this thing is a beast. Screen quality is absolutely stunning and the new keyboard is perfect! I bought this machine for pure portability reasons. Granted I have a brand new Acer Predator gaming laptop but that pc's battery has nothing on this MacBooks battery.

So stoked
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is what I needed! Awesome laptop, I needed a laptop that I could do my editing on the go when I could not be at home editing on my iMac .. I needed a laptop that could handle the work load and get my photos or videos edited as fast a possible. I don’t have time for waiting. So if your a filmmaker or photographer this is a awesome tool to have In your bag. It still fits in my bag even though they say It will only fit up to a 15inch laptop this 16inch still fits no problem!!

Battery life could be better
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Cons: Batter does not last 11 hours like Apple said. I get about 4-5 hours of streaming Netflix, YouTube, Amazon prime before I get alerted that my battery is on 10%. Also the top of the laptop seems to get dirty when it rubs up against anything. Especially the charger. The two materials just don’t get along. You’ll need to wipe it off with a alcohol pad/cotton round. I showed it in the pictures Pros:Everything else. The Retina display is beautiful, love the way the magic keyboard feels, and you can download & upload anything at the drop of a dime.

Q: Questionso, what is difference between this model and: https://www.bestbuy.com/site/apple-macbook-pro-15-4-display-with-touch-bar-intel-core-i9-16gb-memory-amd-radeon-pro-560x-512gb-ssd-space-gray/5430578.p?skuId=5430578
Asked by rose.
- A:Answer Short answer: 1) Better thermal performance so it'll run faster 2) Bigger screen 3) Better graphics card so photo and video editing will be faster Long answer: The 16" model is a little bit bigger, but it isn't as simple as that. Since it is bigger, not only does it get a larger screen, it gets better thermal performance since the cooling fans have more room to work with. This also has a better graphics card meaning it can render photos and videos much quicker aside from the better thermal performance. If you have a bestbuy account you can get the 16" for $100 cheaper than the smaller one.

Q: QuestionI’ve always had a desktop computer with windows. How does the Mac computer compare with windows?
Asked by Sus.
- A:Answer You will never own a Windows again. Don't get me wrong, they have come a long way over the years. With that being said, Mac still beats them on security and quality by a long shot. I just upgraded after having a MacBook Pro for 8 years and only upgraded as a want, not a need.

Q: QuestionDoes best buy price match Amazon prime?
Asked by Jude.
- A:Answer I was just told by my local Best Buy that they do not cover “prime” sales. It was prime early access day. I don’t know if they mean they don’t cover services or daily sales, but both are listed in their exclusions list (services and daily sales)

Q: QuestionDoes this computer have a slot for the SDHC card. Also do I need to buy special adaptors to plug in my mouse and my dymo printer? They us USB ports
Asked by Mar.
- A:Answer It has four Thunderbolt 3/USB-C ports capable of speeds up to 40Gbps. You will need to buy an adapter to plugin SDHC or USB Ports. I would recommend buying something like a Anker 5 in 1 that has USB3.0, SDHC and HDMI in case you need it. There are also adapters with Ethernet in case you have a need for it.
