I have only the fire stick and Roku to compare it too. Given that I have an iPhone and iPad I thought it would be cool to skip the tv adapter and purchase the Apple TV. I am not disappointed!! This thing is amazing! The layout is exactly as one would expect from an apple product. There is a gaming app you can connect a ps4 or Xbox controller to, which is a neat feature! To be honest I haven’t mastered the remote yet. It was frustrating the first couple of days trying to work it out. Instead, I found out that I could sync our tv’s remote to the Apple TV and use it instead! It let me pick and choose which buttons I preferred to control the Apple TV which made it much easier for myself and my family! Another cool feature is being able to airplay things to the tv. Game Changer! I was able to share fun photos and videos of my kids with my whole family over the tv instead of passing my phone around. Much more enjoyable! This was definitely one of my favorite purchases and I look forward to learning more cool features it has to offer!

Apple TV 64GB 4K is a hit with me!

I wanted to stream new services but there was no way to add new apps to the old Apple TV device. The new Apple TV has the App Store and other functions that the old Apple TV did not have. As with most Apple products, setup was so easy. I am now effortlessly streaming all of the new services. I realize that there are less costly streaming devices available. But, I love having most of my tech devices being associated with the wonderfully interconnected Apple universe.

Best Invention To Watch iTunes Library Videos

I used to have to hook up a connector to my iPod, but now its so much easier. With the available holder, the small AppleTV unit goes on the back of my TV, and the remote can too (fro safe keeping and charging).

Plus you can download other apps like Hulu , Netflix and Movie Anywhere. It’s just a great device with the 4K look wow and screen saver it’s just an awesome streaming device. I own a Amazon 4K Firestick and that’s use for APKs my all in use device is the Apple 4K . Well recommend

The picture is unbelievably clear (and I don't even have a 4K TV). Really, really easy to set up. It links to your iPhone or iPad so you can use it to type in passwords etc during setup. I also have several Roku boxes and am now back to Apple TV - much better than ever!

You don’t have a bunch of apps everywhere and use different remote too. I love this Apple TV 4K definitely need to buy for living room.

Connects to my Bluetooth speaker and my phone when entering my password. Remote is easy to learn. Also got the Tv mount on amazon so it can rest on the back of my tv and not take up extra space. Love this purchase!

- A:Answer No, you do not. I have smart TVs running webOS which is amazing and nearly as good as most of the streaming boxes such as AppleTV. if those are the only services you use, I would skip the streaming box. However, if you want to purchase/rent movies from iTunes you would need an Apple TV. The Apple TV offers more apps than the TV does giving you more possibilities. If you are not interested in those, I'd skip it. Same as the others like Amazon Fire TV or Roku.

- A:Answer By regular TV, if you mean local network channels and other channels you would get through cable then yes. Apple TV is just a streaming device so you need an account with a cable provider that allows you to stream content both live and on demand. FIOS, Comcast, Hulu Live, Youtube TV and any other streaming service provide this. When setting up the Apple TV you just put in your account credentials to stream the content from these providers.

- A:Answer Apple website says purchase after Sept. 10, 2019 gives a free year of Apple TV plus. It doesn't have a cutoff/stop date on the website.

- A:Answer Yes, I have used mine with a 4K TV for the last 20 months, it will only send a 1080p signal to the 4K TV though so you are not taking advantage of the TV's full capability.
