A: Mike, The Asus I bought was configured with a 500 GB SSD drive which is perfect for use as your root drive (Windows and all it's associated files, utilities, and paging file. There was plenty of room to add a 2nd drive which I chose to use a WD Black 1TB unit. I spent just under $200 for that drive which is well worth it. I personally do not think this computer configured as I have it is a bad deal at all. There are several components that need to be upgraded in time but, for now, the drive was the only thing I felt urgently needed. The thing is, even after adding the drive, replacing the power supply, adding more memory, and eventually upgrading the mother board the cost is far below the cost with everything included, which is exactly why I chose this unit. A win / win for sure. It was the video card that made the difference.
A: I have my system hooked up to 2 ViewSonic XG2401 monitors. I didn't have to do anything special for them both to work just fine.
Q: can i get a liquid cooler added to this build?
A: One of the reasons I selected the Asus G11CDDB73GTX108 desktop was the fact I could pretty much adapt it any way I cared to. I did a cost comparison and found to buy just the parts I preferred would cost slightly more then the total on this unit. The power supply and memory can be changed without any problem other than the memory will require two new 16gb sticks for 32 gb total making the two 8gb sticks a waste. The thing is, the cost savings to buy two matching 8gb memory sticks rather than two new 16 gb sticks will go a long way towards a new motherboard which would make this computer totally upgrade-able with a better chipset from Intel. The current H series is very low end.. Even if the case needs to be replaced to allow the motherboard to fit along with the cooling system you may desire they can be had for as little as $50.00. A new motherboard with dual channel memory will run on average $130 to $180. Two more 8gb memory sticks adds $100.00 and a decent power supply the same (850 EVGA from BB). The liquid cooling system also averages $100.00 from BB. So for $300 to $400 in replacement parts the Asus G11CDDB73GTX108 desktop goes from low end gaming system to a very high end gaming system for far less than an off the shelf or custom built unit.
