Mike, The Asus I bought was configured with a 500 GB SSD drive which is perfect for use as your root drive (Windows and all it's associated files, utilities, and paging file. There was plenty of room to add a 2nd drive which I chose to use a WD Black 1TB unit. I spent just under $200 for that drive which is well worth it. I personally do not think this computer configured as I have it is a bad deal at all. There are several components that need to be upgraded in time but, for now, the drive was the only thing I felt urgently needed. The thing is, even after adding the drive, replacing the power supply, adding more memory, and eventually upgrading the mother board the cost is far below the cost with everything included, which is exactly why I chose this unit. A win / win for sure. It was the video card that made the difference.
