You Get What You Pay For - No Shortcuts with UHD
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have an award winning theater with over $100,000 in 4k native electronics. McIntosh Sound (MX122, MVP901, MC207, MC152, MPC1500, Oppo DVD, Monitor Audio Platinum II Speakers, Sony 4K Native Projector, Stewart 130" filmscreen. Let's see - 2 choices, cheap cables for the HDMI interconnects, or spend some money! Believe it or not, I tried cheaper and had UHD sync issues and "4k not supported" issues intermittently. Why connect 100k in gear with $50 in cables? Replaced with all AudioQuest Carbon and *BOOM* - everything looks and syncs flawlessly. Worth every penny. These puppies in all lengths are large diameter and very stiff. Not as easy to work with in tight spaces but you can "train" them to conform.

Bought to improve sound Quality For Bose ST300
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this HDMI cable to improve the sound quality on my Bose SoundTouch 300 system (w/ acoustimass sub and virtually invisible speakers) Once I replaced my old HDMI cable with the Carbon the sound improvement was drastically improved. It brought my audio to life. Great Product. Kind of pricey but worth every penny

Perfect cable for "High end components"
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This product is designed to outperform and outlast all other cables. Yes including "Monster". This cable is meant to give you better signal quality without loss of packets on your Video and Audio and better insulation means it gets rid of the static noise that can harm signal quality. Its a great cable to get when you are doing Mid to High end Home Theaters. Everyone can benefit from this cable in terms of Video and Audio quality that being said it is far out there in terms of price so it comes down to , you get what you pay for in these cables. I use mine to direct signal from my Xbox to my Av receiver and it works perfectly.

Way better than....
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought 3 of these Carbon cables to replace existing Monster Cable HDMI, and WOW, what a difference. The Monsters were the braided Ultra Series, cost me $100+ a pop a few years back – so not an entry level version by any stretch. These AQ Carbon not only improved the sound quality with better clarity and definition throughout the range, it was a pleasant surprise that they also improved picture quality. I never realized I had the problem because it was always there, but after installing these cables a certain amount of image jitter was eliminated. It was most noticeable on text, tickers, logos and fine edges. At +$200 per cable, it’s tough to swallow, but if someone told me I could get better sound and picture quality out of my existing equipment that I’ve got thousands invested in for just a couple hundred bucks, I’d say that is money well spent.

Pricey but worth the purchase
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.this cable is worth the price, I bought this on discount (sale) and even then it was twice the price of the average cables. Yes, visually the improvement is marginal and the average cable will suffice so no need to purchase this expensive cable. Unless you have some nice audio equipment and you want to get the best out of that equipment with some great sound. This cable is a difference maker when it comes to sound you can absolutely hear a difference, whether its worth it to you, well that's up to you. I recommend it.

Q: Questionwhat with silver-platedwhy silver-plated over copper?
Asked by gary.
- A:Answer Hello, both silver and copper are highly conductive metals, with silver being the more conductive of the two, but also the more expensive of the two. For digital connections, such as HDMI, most of the signal will travel down the outer part of the cable which is the path of least resistance. Starting with a high quality solid copper as the base metal and then using silver plating for the outer part of the conductor (the outer 5% in the case of the Carbon HDMI) allows for the most benefit.

Q: QuestionDoes anyone know where the arrows would point on this cable if you are using a sound bar and using the arc ports because arc can travel in both directions so I am not sure if it would make a difference thank u
Asked by Matt.
This question was asked about the related product: AudioQuest - Carbon 3'4" 4K Ultra HD HDMI Cable - Charcoal/Black
- A:Answer The vast majority of the sound travels from the source to the destination, align the arrow in that manner and don't worry about the reverse. BTW, you won't hurt anything, so its ok to flip it and do a sound check. Example, if you are feeding a soundbar from the TV and using hdmi, align the arrow as sending out of the tv and into the soundbar. If you are going from a DVD to a soundbar via HDMI, align out of the dvd and into the soundbar. It's always "into" the box that is making the "noise".

Q: QuestionWhat is different with this cable then the rest, and for $239 what does it do ?
Asked by Anonymous.
This question was asked about the related product: AudioQuest - Carbon 6'7" 4K Ultra HD HDMI Cable - Charcoal/Black
- A:Answer If by "the rest" you mean other brands of HDMI cables, Carbon HDMI represents a significant improvement due to the use of superior quality, solid silver-plated conductors and superior quality insulation. No cable can ever improve the signal it's carrying. Cables can only improve performance by doing less damage to the signal. AudioQuest cables do less damage so consequently, picture quality and sound quality are better with AQ.

Q: Questionis this cable hdmi 2.0is this cable 2.0 ready hdmi 2.0 thank you
Asked by Anonymous.
This question was asked about the related product: AudioQuest - Carbon 6'7" 4K Ultra HD HDMI Cable - Charcoal/Black
- A:Answer All high speed cables are 2.0 hdmi. The only difference in cable performance is if it contains silver or uses redmere technology. This explanation is based on the testing of almost 30 different hdmi cables by me. Companies like monoprice advertising a 2.0 hdmi cable is a joke because hdmi 2.0 refers to hardware and not cables. Monster 27 Gbps cable will add nothing because hdmi hardware only goes to 18 Gbps. All high speed cables are cable of 18 Gbps.

Q: QuestionIf the cable is longer does it make the signal weaker? Some blogs I found say stay under 3 meter or less. My issue is that I have the carbon 3 meter cable but I am short by an extra meter to reach my cable box.
Asked by Alejandro.
This question was asked about the related product: AudioQuest - Carbon 10' 4K Ultra HD HDMI Cable - Charcoal/Black
- A:Answer There is absolutely no difference in performance between a 1.0 m. Carbon HDMI and a 5.0 m. Carbon HDMI. A longer cable is perfectly OK.

Q: Questioni have this cable to go with a LG 4k Oled. I am thinking of buying a 4K BluRay player. Couldn't I switch one end of the cable between the DirecTv receiver and the BluRay whenever I do rent a movie. Instead of buying a 2nd cable. Pretty expensive.

This question was asked about the related product: AudioQuest - Carbon 3'4" 4K Ultra HD HDMI Cable - Charcoal/Black
- A:Answer To me it just makes it easier to turn something on and just watch it now. The toll will come pulling and switching the cables from unit to unit and will only induce wear and tear on the connectors. Also, depending on your setup, there's a distinct danger of knocking over your blu ray item or your tv.
