    Bad Boys II
Stars Martin Lawrence and Will Smith return along with director Michael Bay and producer Jerry Bruckheimer for this sequel to the 1995 sleeper hit Bad Boys, the film that sparked the careers of both actors, as well as Bay. Once again, Lawrence and Smith play hotshot, wisecracking Miami narcotics officers Marcus Burnett and Mike Lowrey. This time around, Burnett and Lowrey have been assigned to head up a task force to investigate the illegal trafficking of ecstasy into the city. They discover that an underground gang war has been instigated by drug kingpin Johnny Tapia (Jordi Molla). In order to cut off the flow of the designer drug, they have to take down Tapia. Unfortunately, there's a wrench thrown into the gears in the form of Burnett's sister Syd, whom Lowrey takes a liking to and begins a relationship with. Tensions rise between the partners, threatening both their friendship and the investigation and putting Syd in harm's way. Also returning from the first film are Joe Pantoliano as Captain Howard, Theresa Randle as Burnett's wife Theresa, and former-NBA star John Salley as 'Hacker' Fletcher. Among the supporting players new to this entry in the series are Peter Stormare and musician, spoken-word artist, and sometimes-actor Henry Rollins. ~ Matthew Tobey, Rovi

      Slam-bang action/buddy/cop movie

I should first say that I don't consider this great because of its script. This movie has some of the most off-the-wall twists ever, and it's not as if the plot has never been done before. Nonetheless, this movie is about as much much as you can have watching anything. The cinematography oozes with Michael Bay's typical cool, complete with over-used slow-motion and 360 degree pans. However, once things start to explode, you quickly realize that you could care less. The story is that Marcus Burnett (Martin Lawrence) and Mike Lowrey (Will Smith) are Miami Vice detectives who are working on stopping the influx of ecstasy that has been brought on by Cuban drug lord Johnny Tapia. However, to complicate matters, the two cops, who have been friends and partners forever, are having "relationship issues". Marcus is tired of Mike's shoot first, shoot later attitude, and Mike is secretly dating Marcus's sister, who is herself doing some undercover work on Tapia for the DEA. Hooray for bountiful complications. In terms of the DVD release, this is not a bad set to purchase. THe prive is now very low, and there are 2 discs with a few features on the second disc. The picture quality is up to the standards of the average DVD. the only thing I would recommend is to purchase the Superbit version if it is available. It's the same price, and the definition of the picture is higher. Considering how good this film's cinematography is, it's worth the investment. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone who thinks they won't be able to let go of how silly the plot is to just enjoy the action. If you don't like Michael Bay movies, then this is not for you. However, this sequel is superior to the original and is a really fun ride, so if you're looking for a thrill, definitely pick this up.

      dumb action flick

This Michael Bay followup to his own breakout hit gives action films a bad name. Our heroes (Will Smith & Martin Lawrence) are on another case, this time assisted by Lawrence's sister (the beautiful Gabrielle Union) who is involved with Smith. The only plus I can give this is the sweet romantic chemistry between Smith & Union. Lawrence, on the other hand, is nothing short of annoying. Even worse, though is the headache-inducing camerawork and some rather disgusting moments involving rats & dead bodies. Skip this one!

      Great movie, bad release

This movie is great, and thus my low rating has nothing to do with IT. For a review of the movie itself, take a look at my review of the 2 disc version. I just wanted to note that this release of the movie has no features and thus is inferior to the 2 disc version. To make matters worse, this issue costs more. Save yourself some money and buy the 2 disc or Superbit versions of this awesome buddy/action/cop movie.

      Great action/comedy movie

The hilarious duo of will smith and martin lawrence returns for bad boys 2 and they are superb. They have great chemistry together which shows and on top of that the movie has some crazy action scenes thanks to the explosive mind of Michael Bay. As a big Will Smith fan this is definitely one of my favorites. Great movie to add to your buy buy

Now That's It, That's How You Make A Sequel

It took a minute to get these two guys together, but teaming Martin Lawerence and Will Smith again and coming out with the same success as first one. Best scene of the movie has gotta be the freeway scene. Director Michael Bay shows that you don't have to use special effects 100% of the time

      Great movie!

This movie is one of those rare cases when the sequel is just as good or better than the original. Will Smith and Martin Lawrence come back with a bang! The shoot-outs are awesome and the hilarious chemistry between Smith and Lawrence continues once more.

      Action Action Action

This was a great sequel from the first Bad Boys. Martin and Will have teamed up again with the same good cop/bad cop humor to get the job done. I love the car chase! This part kept me on the edge of my seat.
