A great game overall especially if your a Batman fan and wanting to see a new story line in the series. BUT if you are one of those people who CANT read correctly and get the special edition dont buy it and complain about the batarang being scratched. Its SUPPOSED TO BE I repeat SUPPOSED to be battle worn so of course its not all pretty.

I'll keep it simple. The game is AMAZING!! Worth the $60. Collectors edition, which is $40 more, is not worth it. The case it comes in is pretty neat, great for displaying. Leatherbound Arkham Journal is well made and great for a coffee table in a gamers room. Batarang plain sucks. It's made of cheap plastic, on a cheap plastic stand, and was all scratched up. Originally when I preordered this I SWEAR it was suppose to be some metal alloy... but it isn't. Either way, DONT pass on the game, it's a great game. Probably the best I've played this year. However, just get the standard edition because there is nothing COLLECTOR about this edition. That Batarant with NEVER be worth more than a couple of bucks. enjoy the game!!!

not worth buying the collectors edition. i bought one and the Batarang that it came with was all scratched on both sides. i took back 2 until i said forget it and got the regular copy. the batarang looked like i had strapped it to my car and dragged it for about 4 blocks. IT WAS BAD!!!!! not worth getting. there is a foam pad that sits on top of the batarang to prevent scratching but no use. it looked like it was even there. DO NOT BUY!

Great game, overall. The package gave cool items and the only thing that I disliked was the Batarang. It looks as if someone took it out of the package and scrapped it along the cement. It looks like trash. I was going to bring it back, but called ahead and the Bestbuy by me were nice and explained that it's how it's to look.

I just wanted to clarify what a previous poster had stated. The batarang is supposed to look as if it had been extensively used, '14" Batarang that matches the in-game design' means it's the one that batman used, not a brand new one just for you. Everybody who purchases the Collector's Edition will get a batarang that looks badly damanged, my only gripe is that it is of a cheap plastic, and like another reviewer had stated it looked when announced to be a type of a metal or at least not so cheaply made, which was one of the reasons I was excited for the Collector's Edition.

game is the best of 2009. did not check behind the scenes, but i am sure it is as usual. leatherbound journal is awesome. batarang is great. it is supposed to be scuffed up to simulate it being used in combat. it is made of plastic or composite. people complained it wasnt metal. this package would cost 250 easy if it was made of metal. kids always expect impossible things. overall package is worth it in a nice case.
