I've owned this projector for over 5 years now. Yes, it's an old model, but still perfectly fine in 2023.
Even though it's 1080, it's sharp and as good as 4K. In the dark, the color and brightness is as good as a TV.
This is a short throw, so you don't need to put this projector far back to get a big image.
This also does 3D. I believe more recent models stop support that. I still love 3D movies, so that's a must for me.
Now for the negatives:
Of course, the built-in speakers are awful, so you definitely need a real sound system.
There is fan noise. Not jet engine loud like some other projectors, it's tolerable, but it's there.
It could use more keystone adjustments (if you want the projector on the side of the room, etc)

This is a really great projector. I'm not a tech. person. I've literally never reviewed anything like this in my life. But I got this projector for my husband's birthday and he loves it. Clear, bright picture. Like crazy bright. With our old projector, we used to have to completely block out all light to use it. Not the case with this one, we can even watch in the daytime with the blinds open. The sound quality from the speakers is pretty decent for gaming or for watching TV/movies. Have yet to use it outside, but it seems like it will be great for back yard movies.

The projector is amazing, I project the picture on wall. Buying cheap Silver Grey paint from Home Depot made a huge difference. I tried Optoma GT1080 projector as well. I loved this projector over Optoma.
I set it as "smart eco" mode, which made brighter picture than "eco mode", surprisingly Benq claims it increases lamp life. I called technical support and they also don't know, how is that possible.
Only one problem, few times red light flashed (indicates lamp problem) while I tried to turn on the projector. So far used it less than 60 hrs and I use it occasionally only to watch movies.
Taking out the power cord and inserting again solved the problem. It is short throw projector, still I would prefer little more short throw, like putting it 1 or 2 ft away from wall

I wanna buy TK800M, but I missed a good deal. After reading various reviews, this model is good in all aspects, and it feels very good to use. Whether it is watching movies or switch games, but it is a little troublesome to connect to the audio system. It is something that increases the happiness of life.

Works great. No noticeable lag. Colors are vivid with a 140" setup ~6-7' from screen.
The caveat is the issue of more vivid blacks. This can be compensated with a gray screen.
Have my PS4, Switch, computer and Chromecast Ultra hooked up. Astonished by the setup.
Ordered a Sonos Arc to compensate a surround sound system. Although speakers are appropriate for a makeshift theater room/bedroom. Built in bass not that great.
Make sure to pick up a quality omnidirectional ceiling mount as calibration is a tedious job.
I await a water cooled projector but they're just not on the market. Fan is very quiet however. Best in price range IMO.

Needed a projector for short distance, this one works great! Bought some blackout curtains for day use and this projector is bright enough with them. Makes game day, gaming, and watching shows and videos a lot more fun.
A:Thanks for your interest on BenQ projectors; you can connect your external speakers via Bluetooth by adding a Bluetooth adapter onto the 3.5mm Audio-out port of our projectors, or via a 3.5mm audio cable. Hope this helps
A:Thanks for your interest on BenQ gaming projector; yes it's with HDMI ports that you can simply connect your MacBook Air to it for any projection. Hope this help
