They are wireless, so you can place them anywhere on your property. No wiring needed... The wall mounts make them easy to snap in to place. I would definitely recommend!

Quality3 out of 5Value1 out of 5Ease of Use3 out of 5I had really high hopes for these, I bought the 2 pack and installed one by my front door and the other on my garage. I changed my settings from 5 second clips to 60 second clips figuring they advertise 2 years of life from a single pair of AA batteries depending on your settings. I figured I should still get a year or maybe even 6 months which I’d be ok with changing batteries every 6 months but I was wrong, my driveway camera died after one week of use at a 60 second clip setting with a 6 sensitivity setting. 5 second clips are useless for security purposes. I contacted customer support and received no help at all other than placing the blame on me and telling me to change my settings back to 5 seconds to save battery life.

I have just what I need with it: No cables at all, alerts right to my cellphone, saves hundreds of clips for months in the cloud, keeps sending alerts while the intruder remains in range, no expensive record extra devices, no guy needed to install, battery lasts crazly long, can change cam locations all the times as needed (even to different house) indoors or outdoors so no one can spot them, the live two directions audio works as needed, mute alerts when needed, medium sensitivity even detects tiny birds and bees, smaller than my hand's palm, light, weather resistant, night vision (w/ quite good resolution), no need to pay monthly fees for 24/7 monitor companies, the app is easy to use, configure and gather other location's devices, share control with family through the app, AFFORDABLE SECURITY CAMERAS SYSTEM!

Separately, any XT2 or 1st generation Indoor cameras added to an account created after 4/15/2020 will receive free cloud storage on those devices, but any Mini and the new Blink Indoor and Outdoor cameras added to that same account will require either local storage via the Sync Module 2 or a subscription for cloud storage to save videos.

Please note that Blink is unable to gain internet access on networks that require authentication through a third-party login website.

You can use a baby monitor as a security cam without internet, but it won't send it to your phone. I do use a baby monitor to keep an eye on my car at night. The camera just looks out the window. I recently became aware of the security cam phenomena, after our place was broken into. I now have a number of the blink minis, and they are a total game changer. I can be anywhere; pull out my phone, and look at the front yard, front door, driveway, back door, etc. It's crazy how well it works. My phone will "ping", and i'll look at the blink app, and there is the neighbor's dog walking across the yard! It's worth it to get internet and wifi just for these.
