Customers value the long battery life and ease of use of this product. However, many customers found the shaving quality to be inadequate, particularly for thicker or longer hair. Several users reported difficulty achieving a close shave and needing to use a trimmer for optimal results. The product may not be suitable for everyone's shaving needs.

Photo is of older model

FYI, the photo of the shaver in the Black Friday 2009 advertisement and currently on the Website is of an older model. The 1-150 model has more silver color, two separate on and off buttons, differnent power cord, and a smoother casing vs. the older model. Functionally they appear to be very similar (both washable, both with long-hair trimmer). Photo is attached below.

BEST. RAZOR. EVER.

I first of all want to say I'm in no way connected with the Braun company, not a paid endorser, just a plain old everyday customer. I just believe in giving kudos where due.
I tried several brands of electric razor lately. I wasn't impressed with any of them. From cheap batteries to bad overall design to just plain not shaving very well, they simply didn't work and were promptly returned.
I finally decided to spend an extra ten bucks and buy the Braun. Wise decision. This razor is excellent. The shape fits the hand well, the single-foil razor travels well over the skin and shaves very well. The battery is heavy duty, much nicer than other brands.
In short, Braun's reputation is well earned. This is an excellent product.

Can't beat it for the price

This is my third Braun razor. My first one lasted about six years and the second, with one foil and blade replacement, lasted fourteen years.
I looked at the 3, 5 and 7 series from Braun but they don't have the long hair trimmer which I like to use for beard and mustache trimming. These also cost substantially more and require the cleaning solution which adds to the overall cost of ownership.
My first use of this razor was on a Monday morning after not shaving since the previous Friday. It performed as well as my other Braun razors have on long hair. If you are expecting a razor to cut everything in one pass, this one will not do. Based on some of the reviews of the ones that are supposed to handle long hair better, it does not look like they necessarily live up to the claim. This razor is also much quieter than my other Braun's even though it does sound rather angry on long hair.
The trimmer is positioned so it sticks out above the foil when in use while my old one opened up from the side. While it does take a bit of getting used to, it works just as good.
Daily shaves since the first use have been quick and close just as I have come to expect from Braun.
Overall, this is definitely a good razor at a very good price; this is by far the least expensive one that I have bought. I tried two other popular brands of razors in between my first and second Braun and was not impressed. You do need to take your time on long hair and it will probably not get it all on the first pass, but I haven't seen one that will, especially at this price point.

The battery is good, one charge can last for many days. But it's a bit noisy, the sound is loud

Poor Quality Shaver

While the shaver looks somewhat sleek, there is much to disappoint from this shaver. First, please know that I do not grow very thick facial hair, but there were many spots on my face and neck that this shaver simply could not cut. In addition, the shaver is very loud when trimming hair. I would not recommend this shaver to anyone. Spend $25 more and save yourself the frustration.

This electric razor was a gift for our 15 year old son. He does not need to shave daily, and this razor has been easy for him to use and gives him a smooth shave for several days.

I ordered this shaver a few weeks ago but I didnt get the one that is displayed on the image above. I was expecting to receive the dark gray with black series- 1 shaver but instead I got the light silver colored one. I had to return it and was not pleased with my order.

I have owned several Braun razors including an older model series 1. This razor is a disappointment compared to the older model. It only works plugged into an electrical outlet when the battery is charged. It does not shave as close as the older model. Overall, it seems as though this newer model is a step backwards in quality. I paid less than $20- so I guess you get what you pay for?
