    Synopsis

    Breakfast at Tiffany's
In an idealized New York City during the early '60s, Holly Golightly (Audrey Hepburn) is a charming socialite with a youthful zest for life who lives alone in a nearly bare apartment. She has such a flippant lifestyle that she won't even give her cat a name, because that would be too much of a commitment to a relationship. Maintaining a childlike innocence yet wearing the most perfect of designer clothes and accessories from Givenchy, she spends her time on expensive dates and at high-class parties. She escorts various wealthy men, yet fails to return their affections after they have given her gifts and money. Holly's carefree independence is changed when she meets her neighbor, aspiring writer Paul (George Peppard), who is suffering from writer's block while being kept by a wealthy woman (Patricia Neal). Just when Holly and Paul are developing their sweet romance, Doc (Buddy Ebsen) appears on the scene and complicates matters, revealing the truth about Holly's past. Breakfast at Tiffany's was nominated for several Academy awards, winning Best Score for Henry Mancini and Best Song for Johnny Mercer's classic tune "Moon River". ~ Andrea LeVasseur, Rovi

Audrey Hepburn charms as free spirit Holly Golightly in this comedy classic. Based on a book penned by Truman Capote, Breakfast at Tiffany's is about a young woman who desperately struggle not to be tied down. Her charm appeal attracts a young writer and drama and hilarity ensue. This is a cinema staple and after all these years remains a joy to watch and this blu ray does it justice.

Breakfast at Tiffany's is a beautiful illustration of the soiled situations of life that only Audrey Hepburn and George Peppard could portray so elegantly. A permanent classic in the archives of Golden Hollywood, a definite must for anyone who loves the glamour and sophistication of the 1950's and 1960's.

I saw this movie when it was originally in the theatres and I enjoyed it. Audrey Hepburn, as Holly Golightly, is fantastic in this movie. She is an inexperienced, naive young lady searching Manhattan for a millionaire to marry. George Peppard plays a young writer that is swept along by the chaotic behavior of Holly Golightly. A wonderful film from the early 1960's.

This movie filmed in a time when New York was on top of the world, brings a sense of longing for days when life was simpler and people appeared to be less pretentious than today. Fun seemed to be spontaneous back then. People could entertain themselves rather than have to be entertained. One came away from the story happy.

Based on the Truman Capote's novel, this movie adaptation is one of the Hollywood's finest. Thanks to Audrey Hepburn's remarkable acting and a great screenplay with talented directing, this movie creates a charming atmosphere.

This is one of those classic films where people know of it, but have never actually seen it. When you finally do, the story details are often surprising. Definitely a must see if you're a film buff.
