Breville - Refurbished Indoor Grill and BBQ - Stainless-Steel

So far, I've cooked salmon steaks, hamburger patties and chicken breasts using the closed-grill method. The food cooked beautifully - nicely browned on the outside and as done in the middle as I chose. I put the temperature dial in the middle and hoped for the best, and it worked well. Don't know about durability because I haven't had the grill for very long. I can say that this is a sturdy, well-put-together appliance and I expect it will last a long time. The only drawback is, when using as a closed grill, you need a flat space that allows you to open the grill without an upper cabinet getting in the way. Our cabinets are 18 inches above the counter top and the microwave is about that above the stove. The only place I can use it is the area where the counter top "L's" and i can pull the grill far enough forward that the top will stay open while I'm tending to the food. It's a little inconvenient, but the results are so worth it.

It is a still great grill. I use it for 5 or 6 times a week to make hot sandwiches, grill veggies and some meat. Grilling chicken makes the best with moisture inside. I haven't mastered grill beef yet. However, I am still learning how best I can use it.

I got this one as a "refurb" for a good price. It came in excellent (totally clean) condition. The non-stick surface works very well. I've used it for fried eggs, boneless chicken thighs and breasts, pork loin chops, panini sandwiches, and quesadillas (so far). The leveling function is useful for the fried eggs, for instance. I'm going to attach a small bubble level to the side to help with that. Cleanup is pretty easy (I use Pam while it's still warm), although I'd like to find some kind of sponge that reaches inside the ridges. Note that the grills are not removable. It would also be nice if you could turn off the top grill when you have it in the flat position, say, if you're cooking pancakes.

easy cleaning when still warm/cooks great/ have been using it 2-3 days a week during the winter months. Will have hard time using the gas grill in summer with this unit around..
