Brother - MFC-6490cw Wireless All-in-One Printer

This unit is a Big Mother, and you'll need at least a 4 ft. by 4 ft area to host it. The faxing options are top line, and the copying, scanning device is the best I've had yet, with a ton of options that are manageable, because they are really easy to understand. I am disappointed in the printer. It doesn't print duplex, or have a print preview, which can tell you how to save paper by making adjustments, so I waste paper at times for not having the preview. The print options are so basic, even the least familiar with PCs won't have a hard time with it. It is dependable. I think I could run off 100 sheet runs all day long and it wouldn't over heat or bog down. The quality of the print is outstanding. dpi choices are adequate for most applications, and the scan and print works out perfect every time without playing around. It's worth $300, but not $400, so buy on sale only or you will be disapointed.

I purchased this product for the ledger size and the copy-to-file option, which also copies and sends to any email account similar to faxing, however the printer has many features that performed to my expectations. It scans nicely and prints quick and clean. It would work very nicely for a small business that does not require extreme copying. The automatic document feeder is nice but is slow. Overall, I'm very happy with this product and I would recommend it to anyone, but I also picked it up for a great price with points and discounts.

It was easy, a snap, to hook up to my wireless network! I love the features and am impressed with the oem software - simple but sweet. Got the priinter shortly after Windows 7 was introduced so the drivers needed to be downloaded from the manufacturer's site. Once I was able to locate on the site, the download and setup were s-m-o-o-t-h. Print speed is a little slower than I'm used to (I have a laser at work), but the features certainly outweigh the speed!

I still like the product, easy to use but a little slow in copies.

I'm a senior citizen with little computer experience yet I was able to set up the printer easily and use it with no trouble. The quality of print is great, both black and color. I had the printer shipped to my residence and it arrived in a timely manner with no damage due to the secure packing. This is my second printer and when the time comes I will buy a third.

GREAT FEATURES, B U T the unit cleans the print head each time you boot up. This uses ink! In fact, I have not printed even one page and it used $60 in ink. Stupid me refilled it, thinking it was a fluke, and it did it again. I have contacted Brother and they were not supportive. They said that was the way they keep the print quality up. I would give it away; but don't know anyone I dislike that badly. I guess I will just run over it with my truck.

I've had this printer for almost 1 year and have never been able to use it. It is always something. Either a ink jet head is bad and it needs to go to the shop or one of the colors has ran it's end of life with out ever being used so the no part of the printer or scanner will work or it won't connect wireless. Technical support is very nice but they really can't do anything. I have to replace the cartridges again for $60 because they are at the end of their life without ever being used. Brother technical support will not give an answer as to how long they last without being used but I am on my third set in one year without ever printing anything. If your are wealthy and can afford to keep feeding this printer ink without printing anything, this is the printer for you. I'm going to throw it in the garbage
