Fun movie
The DVD is in great condition. And it arrived earlier than expected. Nick Nolte and Deborah Winger are very charismatic. Good supporting cast.
If you're looking for car chases, flashy special effects, or a two-hanky chick flick this is not for you. This little jewel, however, is a delight on many fronts: satisfying love story, quirky understated comedy, daffy eccentricity, and colorful characters deftly acted. It's narrated by the inimitable John Huston and captures, if not the literacy, then the textures and atmosphere of the John Steinbeck novella.
