  • Key Specs
    • Image Sensor Size: 35mm Full Frame (36 x 24 mm)
    • Effective Pixels: 26.2 megapixels (The actual number of pixels which make up the viewable image.)
    • Standardized Video Resolution: Full HD (1080p) (An approximated measurement of the product’s video resolution. This may not be the exact resolution of the product, which may be slightly more or less when using a pixel-by-pixel measurement.)
  • General
    • Brand: Canon
    • Model Number: 1897C009
    • Product Name: EOS 6D Mark II DSLR Video Camera with EF 24-105mm f/4L IS II USM Lens
    • Color: Black
    • Product Set: Body + EF 24-105mm Lens
    • Camera Model Family: Canon 6D Mark II
    • Digital Camera Type: DSLR Camera with Lens
  • Imaging
    • Image Sensor Type: CMOS (CCD and CMOS are the two main technologies used in image sensors. CCD, the older of the two types, turns analog light signals into digital pixels. This conversion happens without distortion, resulting in high-quality images. Newer CMOS sensors use transistors at each pixel to move electrical charges. CMOS sensors are typically less expensive, but also require more light to create distortion-free images.)
    • Image Sensor Size: 35mm Full Frame (36 x 24 mm)
    • Total Pixels: 27.1 megapixels (Generally, the more pixels, the higher the image resolution and the finer the detail that can be seen.)
    • Zoom Capability: true (This function allows for magnification of the subject.)
    • Digital Zoom: None (A digital zoom is accomplished electronically, with no adjustment of the camera's optics, and no optical resolution gained in the process. The existing data is not enhanced or added to, merely displayed at a lower resolution, thereby giving an illusion of an enlarged image.)
    • Low Light/High Sensitivity: true (High sensitivity digital imaging devices are designed to work in low light conditions to produce a high dynamic range image.)
    • Image File Format(s): JPEG, RAW (Standardized software format(s) of storing digital images. The type of format chosen for capturing and compressing the image can determine quality, level of detail, and storage space required.)
  • Focus
    • Autofocus: true (Allows the camera to automatically focus through the lens, rather than by adjusting the lens manually.)
    • Eye Autofocus (Eye AF): false (Automatically seeks out and focuses on the subject's eye and holds it as the camera and subject move and as the photographer shoots at high frame rates.)
    • Number of Autofocus Points (Up To): 45
  • Exposure Control
    • Shutter Speeds: 1/4000 to 30 sec.; Bulb (The length of time the shutter remains open when the shutter release is activated, expressed in fractions of seconds. The longer the shutter is open, the more light that is able to be captured by the camera sensor.)
    • Minimum Aperture: f/4 (The smallest opening of a lens, typically expressed in f-numbers. The larger the number, the smaller the aperture and the less light that can enter the lens. A smaller aperture creates a larger depth of field, which keeps both foreground and background in focus.)
    • Maximum Aperture: f/4 (The limit to how wide a lens can be open, typically expressed in f-numbers. The smaller the number, the larger the aperture and the more light that can enter the lens. A larger aperture creates a shallower depth of field, helpful for keeping subjects in focus and blurring background details.)
    • Minimum ISO: 50 (ISO is the measurement of a camera image sensor's light sensitivity. When there is plenty of light, using the lowest ISO setting available will typically result in a higher quality image.)
    • Maximum ISO: 40000 (ISO is the measurement of a camera image sensor's light sensitivity. In low-light environments, using a higher ISO setting helps to capture a sharp, bright image.)
    • Maximum Expandable ISO: 102400 (ISO is the measurement of a camera image sensor's light sensitivity. Expandable ISO settings use software to simulate brighter images than the device's native ISO range is capable of capturing.)
    • Brightness Control: true (Allows the camera to adjust the brightness of a captured image for optimal exposure.)
    • Burst Mode: true (Also referred to as continuous shooting. This feature captures multiple shots in rapid succession.)
    • Self Timer: true

Examples include Aperture-Priority, Macro, and Manual modes.)
    • Panorama Mode: false
    • Scene Modes: Portrait, Group Photo, Landscape, Sports, Kids, Panning, Close-up, Food, Candlelight, Night Portrait, Handheld Night Scene, HDR Backlight Control (Exposure modes with predetermined optimal settings for capturing specific scenes. Examples include Landcape, Portrait, and Sports modes.)
    • White Balance Modes: Auto (Ambience priority/White priority), Daylight, Shade, Cloudy, Tungsten light, White fluorescent light, Flash, Custom (Custom WB), Color temperature (Settings that calibrates how the color white is rendered in an image/video, reducing the appearance of unnatural contrasts caused by various light sources.)
    • Effective Pixels: 26.2 megapixels (The actual number of pixels which make up the viewable image.)
  • Lens
    • Lens Mount Compatibility: Canon EF
    • Lens Type: Standard Zoom

Q: Is this international version? Or US version?

A: This item is the US version.

Q: It only serves to take video, or also photos

A: Both cause it has a lcd view screen that flip, so great for video and photo

Q: Is this good for beginners or is it too advanced?

A: This might be a bit to advance for a beginner. I would suggest going with Rebel or a 77D. These are also lighter cameras than the 6D.

Q: Will my lens I have been using with my Canon T6i fit this full-frame Canon 6D Mark II DSLR Camera?

A: It depends. If your lens is an EF-S lens, it will not work. If the lens is an EF lens, it will work.

Q: I bought this and didn’t receive a free battery grip.

A: The Best Buy location here in my city didn't have any battery grips in stock, so once I got home I submitted a request online to have one shipped to me. They said it would be a week, but I received it three days later.

Q: I want to finance this purchase

A: I qualified on the spot financed the purchase and was on my way in less than a half an hour.

Best overall Value for its time!

Purchased Feb 2018 Reviewing Nov 2020 After months of research on which camera to upgrade to, I was sorted and sure to buy the 5DMK4, but when I arrived at the store to get some hands-on with the camera my whole perspective changed. The 6DMK2 and 5DMK4 were so close in spec, I couldn’t wrap my head around the price difference. It was either buy the body for one or get full set with lens for the other. Articulating screen and price were the absolute determining factors in my purchase. Weddings are a blast with this camera. Car shots with the articulating screen are quite fun. While doing graduation photos, I realized that the screen can be used as a selfie camera with a shorter lens of course, you tap on the screen where you want focus and it works flawlessly. Beyond happy with this camera! Battery life is the best I’ve seen in a DSLR. Remote shooting and Bluetooth are game changers when doing minimal setup shots. I’ve only ever used the included lens and a 50mm 1.8, throughout this whole time and surprisingly it’s all I’ve ever needed. Photography is a hobby for me and I enjoy taking photos with a different perspective than the main photographer. Paid $3200 upon purchase of the Canon 6DMK2, including taxes, and not once have I regretted my decision! I needed the best within my price range. My previous camera was a Canon T3Rebel, yeah I know, and I still use it for lesser environmentally friendly shoots. Single issue I had with my Canon 6D Mark 2, booting up mid shoot after the screen went to sleep, I would sometimes get an error about the lens or it would just not work at all. Had it happen on four different occasions and I was ready to do a full tear down. It turned out to be a firmware update being required. First photo is of myself while using the remote shooting feature (phone in hand, tap screen where to focus/capture)

    Great Camera

I bought this for the full frame sensor. I would not discourage a beginner from buying this camera, but I would point them to another Canon in the Rebel class. I am an intermediate photographer and I am amazed everyday at what it will do. With the 24 - 105mm f/4L lens I am turning out some amazing shots already. I am really surprised at what this camera will do and I HAVEN’T EVEN SCRATCHED THE SURFACE. I am producing some of the sharpest photos I have ever produced. I have moved up from a Rebel Xsi and T3i and I am happy with the ease at which the conversion is. The Mode Dial and on/off are on the left instead of the right, but the is an easy adjustment to make. This is one good Camera and the has made me the envy of my Canon using pro friends.

    Excellent quality!

I upgraded to this camera from a T3i. Can you say wow?! Big upgrade in picture quality. Features, very video, and microphone. I love this camera. Watched plenty of YouTube videos complaining about it not having 4k and yadda yadda, but this is more aimed for a photographer, or videographer not interested in 4k. I recommend this for photographers!
