Q: Will this work inside an office building?
A: This is a very conditions oriented question. Inside a multi-story steel-framed office building floor to floor, probably not. Inside a one or two level building of less than 25,000 sf, probably. Radio signals can be blocked by structures, trees, office equipment, and all sorts of other things. This is basically a low power radio that will work well inside a warehouse or out in the open. Advertised ranges on these radios is misleading. The optimal range would be obtained under conditions like mountain top to mountain top with no obstructions in between. Realistically, this type of radio will not work inside a vehicle and will have a workable range of about a half mile in a city or heavily wooded area, perhaps 2 miles or a little more in open terrain.
