A: As long as you put the RAM in the right slots than you can use one 16GB stick. Your motherboards should have 4 slots that are alternating black and white. Your two sticks that are 8GB should both be in the same colored slots, and your 16 should be in the opposite color.
Q: So is it like 4 sticks of ram that equals to 32gb or is it 4 sticks that equal to 16gb
