Honestly, I think that most people who are fans of this series have long-since picked this up for their collection. I'm personally behind on that myself, and finally decided to scoop it up before the dvds decided to stop going out of production (it's still being produced, by the by). However, for anyone new to the anime scene, Cowboy Bebop is easily one of the best series to come out of the past 20 years. It's a fun, action-packed show focusing on a group of bounty hunters oozing with personality, with the flair of sci-fi and westerns mixed together, all accompanied with a soundtrack encompassing the genres of rock, blues, jazz, and more. I would even suggest this to people who normally wouldn't want to watch an anime series, due to it being one of the more "western" series out there. It's not a very "Japanese" show in that there's no culture shock to watching it, and despite having a flowing narrative throughout the entire series, most episodes can be watched as standalones due to a plot that wraps up before the credits roll. Many people even consider the dubbed version to be superior, just for how well the voice cast is. Anyway, I can't recommend this series enough. It holds up as well today as it did nearly 20 years ago, and is always a fun watch. See you, space cowboy.

I gotta say... this is the series that started it all. From the epic story and characters -- to Yoko Kanno's iconic music... Cowboy Bebop is everything that made 90's Anime great. Funk meets Space in this one-- and it's everything that you never knew you always wanted. If you've ever been curious about this Anime-- but we're too afraid to invest in it... now's the time to give it a shot. I once owned all six volumes of this show (which averaged about 25 dollars a pop 15 years ago)-- so it was so awesome to see them all compiled into an economical package. The animation holds up to this day... and the English voice acting is (in my opinion) the best I have ever heard in any series. I know, I know... many of you hate Dubs-- but trust me when I say that this Cast is well put together. And hey, if you don't like Dubs-- just switch it to Japanese, like always. All in all.... this one brings back so many memories. A timeless classic... it is a MUST BUY.

Such a classic, sci-if anime! Hard to believe it's almost twenty years old now! When I originally bought this series, I had to buy six individual DVDs. It's great that it's been compressed into five discs in one package now! "Cowboy Bebop" has that perfect blend of humor, action, and mystery to make this one season TV series, that aired in Japan back in 1998, timeless! The series was so well-received that it spawned a full movie, "Cowboy Bebop: Knocking on Heaven's Door", which takes place between episodes 22 and 23 in this series. Give this anime a chance... You won't be disappointed!

This review is for the DVD format (not Blu-Ray). This DVD set contains all episodes of the show, plus commentaries from the cast and crew of the production team. It is a very good value for all of the episodes. The video and audio quality is solid. Interesting thing to note is that a lot of people complain that the Blu-Ray version is not true HD, because the original format of the show was not necessarily filmed in that format, but later expanded to fit the screen. I have not had any issues with the DVD format. It is not necessarily HD, but the images and sounds are excellent and if I'm missing out on anything better, I haven't noticed. Solid value and great set for the fans out there.

Im not a guy who likes anime, but the storytelling in this sucked me in. All the characters had me emotionally invested, and are easy to relate to, and the over arching meta plot, while predictably anime in nature, was well done and played out. Sure the animation is dated, but its easy to overlook. And the music is fabulous. Two thumbs up, a must have for anyone who appreciates fine story telling, even if you hate anime. As an aside, you'll probably want to get the Cowboy Bebop movie as well, that falls chronologically between the last two episodes, but it isnt a make or break deal.

Unusual, thoughtful and not that violent sci fi anime series about a group of bounty hunters living in space after Earth has been invaded/occupied (or so it seems. This is pretty vague most of the time) You will either like or hate the jazz music; I happen to like it so that affects my review. There certainly is violence but its not unrelenting and pointless. There is actually plot and a fair amount of humor. Listen in Japanese with subtitles to get the full effect.

Bebop takes you into a Pulp Noir world, long gone from Cinema. The only thing better would be if it was available in the Blu-ray format. A great mixture of Space western/gangster-drama and sci-fi all role into one. A great series. The audio-visuals were groundbreaking for the format. The fact that is still intact through the test of time. Even if you're not a fan of anime, this one belongs in your films library.

definitively one of my favorite anime's. The characters are rich and well developed. The music and art really bring a powerful pull to each episode. This series can bring you to the brink of hysterical laughter to sobbing in your bed, wrap in your comforter as your favorite characters go through the ups and downs of being intergalactic bounty hunters !!! LOVED IT !!!
