Excellent choice for a budget. Used my BestBuy card rewards and was able to get it while on sale for a total of about $80. Using a Sabrent heatsink, we have had no performance or temperature issues. Very easy to install after watching 2 youtube videos.

It was easy to install and clone the boot drive of my new motherboard. Hard to see in the photo as I added a heat sink to further protect the SSD from damage. Its been a week or two and working great. I find the boot time is much less with SSD verses conventional hard drives. Large enough for my computing needs and fast. Cost effective and reliable.

Two 2TB Crucials into 4TB RAID

I purchased my Crucial drives to put into a hardware RAID, since my motherboard came with a ROG hardware RAID card and I wanted to get some use of it, and transition to mostly NVME-storage across the board. Drive software like WD "drive" (not so creatively named) and Samsung Magician cannot update firmware or do much of anything with drives in RAID (or if, like me, your mobo defaulted to VOD-on and IRST) ... so Crucials were a good fit. I was looking for a midrange with good specs and good reliability. So far, it seems like I've gotten that, and I have no complaints about the Crucials. Despite not being the most expensive Gen-4s (like Firecuda or Black) I'm getting pretty good specs. I have a second RAID of Samsung 980s (I updated the firmware on a different mobo using SamsungBIOS and then transferred them physically over) and they don't perform much better, though hosting C drive or OS slows any partition ion my experience, even when that Windows it isn't actively in use.

I was quickly running out of space on my Alienware X15 R1 500GB Drive so I install the Crucial P5 Plus 3TB Gen 4 Drive. Crucial's site guaranteed that the Gen 4 Drive would work although it was not suggested by Alienware. I bought a heat sink on Amazon. I removed the MB power connector, then moved the 500GB Drive and Heatsink from Slot 0 to Slot 1. Then I inserted the new 2TB Drive and heatsink in Slot 0. I restored the power connector and powered up. I acknowledged the clock warning as expected, then I partitioned and formatted the new space into two equal partitions. I could not figure out how to get a fresh install on the OS Drive or how to use the Acronis for Crucial to install the OS on the new drive. No instructions. For that I took away one star. Otherwise my laptop works fine.

So far, so good. A little dissatisfied with the PS5 read speed of 5652mbps because it’s rated for 6600mbps. Glad it’s still in the PSR recommended mark. Hopefully there may be a future firmware update to take advantage of the quoted speeds. Loaded all my games on this drive and they work perfect with no lag during extended use of play.
A:Depends on how much Read and Write speed you need for Gaming. For regular use, even with like Photoshop, Visual Studio and a Database Server working at the same time, the performance was good.
A:If you install this inside of the PS5, which is pretty simple to do, you will be able to install and play PS5 games on it. If it's put inside of an enclosure, and plug in via USB, it will only work for PLAYING PS4 games and temporarily STORING PS5 games. You can move PS5 games to this drive by USB and store them to make room on the main drive and later move back to the main drive to actually play them. I hope this helps.
A:this is compatible and specs on the aorus website state your laptop has 2 slots at gen 4 speeds. whether 1 of them is empty is to be determined by you. if you show only 1 drive in your "this PC"-"devices and drives" then your second slot is empty and ready. otherwise you'll have to replace one of them.
A:Thank for reaching out to us.
We are glad to inform you that this SSD Crucial P5 Plus 2TB is compatible with your system Gigabyte/aorus-15-xe5 and will work.

A:From what I can find online, it looks like it should work, but you would be removing your current drive and replacing it with this since it only has 1 Nvme slot. Then you’d have to reinstall Windows and all your programs.
