Cuisinart - Refurbished Pure Indulgence 2-Quart Ice Cream Maker - Stainless-Steel

This machine has a large capacity and does the work for you. The ice cream never gets really firm like store bought ice cream. Best Buy sold this machine as "refurbished," but the On-Off ring around the control knob was broken. It took Magic Putty ad Gorilla Glue to repair it. Otherwise the machine works as described.

I understand that there is a reason why refurbished products are cheaper. The product I received has some scratches, which is acceptable. But when I turned it on to test it, it makes a loud and weird noise, not a noise similar to that of other cuisinart icecream makers. It spins off centered and I am not sure this is the way it should spin because I have a 1.5 quart cuisinart icecream maker that spins in a perfect circle. The engine case has clearly been opened during refurbishing and when it was closed it did not fit back very well into the lower base. I do not think this product was properly refurbished and I hope I will be able to return it!

This item came with one bottom corner that looked like it was about to come apart. It also sounded like there were lots of little pieces rattling around inside of it. We plugged it in and it did rotate but we were not going to take a chance on it. We took it back. The return was easy. I think it would have been a good item if it had been in better shape.

After reading the other reviews, I was a little hesitant to purchased this refurbished mode. However, I figured I would take my chances since it was such a price savings. I must say, I am very glad I did. My ice cream maker works perfect. It also looks perfect. There were only very little noticable signs that this was a refurbished model. And, had I not known that it was refurbished, I probably wouldn't have noticed anything at all. I am very glad I ordered this product and saved a lot of money by doing so.

Works great, but its kind of loud. Might be cause its a refurb. But makes wonderful icecream and its incredibly easy. I would recommend this to anyone.
