    Synopsis

    Death Wish 2
Paul Kersey's (Charles Bronson) self-appointed one-man vigilante squad goes bi-coastal in Michael Winner's sequel to his Death Wish. Kersey has taken up residence in Los Angeles, but lunatic violence follows him across the country like toilet paper sticking to his shoe. Kersey's Spanish cook is immediately gang-banged and killed, while his daughter, still suffering from a catatonic stupor after her brutal rape in the first film, finds herself raped yet again. Vincent Gardenia as New York detective Frank Ochoa, reprises his role from the first film here -- traveling to Los Angeles to locate Kersey but finding death waiting for him off a LA freeway ramp. After all this mayhem, Kersey cannot cringe in hiding for long, and once again he loads up his tube socks with rolls of quarters and goes hoodlum hunting. ~ Paul Brenner, Rovi

Death Wish II got a release on Blu-ray a few months ago, but that release was only the theatrical version, which cut some elements from a graphic scene to get an R rating. Here, we have the uncensored version with said scene intact. I won't go into details of the plot, but it basically breaks down to Charles Bronson blowing away street trash that have attacked his family. Be on the lookout for a young Lawrence Fishburne sporting some pink sunglasses! Image quality is solid and better than you would expect, though not necessary a huge improvement over the old disc, which looked pretty good to begin with. Bonus features include a commentary, TV spot, trailer, and image gallery. Sadly, there is nothing more substantial than this. Lacking bonuses aside, this is the version of Death Wish II on Blu-ray you should own.

Death Wish II is a 1982 crime thriller action film directed by Michael Winner. It is the first of four sequels to the 1974 film Death Wish. In Death Wish II, architect Paul Kersey (Charles Bronson) moves to Los Angeles with his daughter (Robin Sherwood). After his daughter is murdered at the hands of several gang members, Kersey is once again forced to become a vigilante. Unlike the original, in which he hunts down every criminal he encounters, Kersey only pursues his family's attackers. The sequel makes a complete break from the Brian Garfield novels Death Wish and Death Sentence, redefining the Paul Kersey character.

Can't say how many versions of Death Wish movies I watched. If you are looking for the unrated cut version, this is the one that has both; Theater (i.e. aired TV edit) or the unrated (uncut) version. Great that Shout Factory got this done. Just hoping that they will complete the Death Wish series with the Unrated versions. (I had many MGM releases DVD/Blu-ray) and this version is by far the best.

Like heirloom silver that is well used and polished, Death Wish II is a gem! The subject is still fresh and in the news weekly. Bronson's vigilantism is shocking and brutal, but it fits the crime. Finally, society takes the law into it's own hands and it will blow you away. Highly recommend it to all American citizens who give a hoot about safety.

I grew up going to the theater in the late 70s and all through the 80s watching Charles Bronson at the movie theater and couldn’t get enough. I remember Death Wish 2 as one of his best in the Death Wish Franchise and the uncut Bluray is great, brings back found memories of Bronson.

I grew up with these movies in the 80's.. Even though the acting is not that great and plain cheesy at times, It still has good action, real explosions and cars crashing. Not the computer integrated graphics garbage they make in todays world. Charles Bronson fits the character perfect. Proud to say I own 2, 3 and 4.. Grab it....

Shout brings us Death Wish 2 uncut, not much special features though, to be called a special edition. Has an audio commentary & both cuts of the film. At the $12.99 price i got from best buy, it was definitely worth picking up.

Even though Death Wish II is one of my least favorites of the 5 films, this Bluray is fantastic to own. Great picture quality and awesome to finally see the more brutal cut of the film! MUST OWN for Bronson lovers and Death Wish fans!
