Q: Is it normal that the fan makes noise?
A: Mine has been very quiet so far. A week in and I have yet to hear any fan noise or even anything from the graphics card. Doesn't seem to be straining in any way.
Q: This listing suggest this processor is an 8 core processor.
A: It has 4 CPU core and 8GPU cores that make up the 12 stated. Here is info from AMD Historically, cores process data inside a processor. The more cores you have working together, the faster a computer will perform tasks. CPU cores were designed for serial tasks like productivity applications, while GPUs were designed for more parallel and graphics-intensive tasks like video editing, gaming and rich Web browsing. AMD’s latest revolutionary processing architecture, Heterogeneous System Architecture (HSA), bridges the gap between CPU and GPU cores and delivers a new innovation called compute cores. This groundbreaking technology allows CPU and GPU cores to speak the same language and share workloads and the same memory. With HSA, CPU and GPU cores are designed to work together in a single accelerated processing unit (APU) , creating a faster, more efficient and seamless way to accelerate applications while delivering great performance and rich entertainment.
Q: ram
A: No, the ram can not be expanded.
Q: Is there a place to plug in an external hard drive ? Are there memory card or sd card slots?
A: SD card slot and USBs on the front
A: It depends. I have been using AMD cards for years, and they're great ( it's what you will find in PS4 or XBoxOne). Intel i5 is quick as is the i7. It depends on what type of games you're playing. It's nice because you can adjust the graphics card and overclock if you want! :)
