  • Key Specs
    • Number of Channels: 9.2 (The number of discrete channels of sound output. This can be a single number or multiple numbers separated by decimal(s). The first number is the primary, horizontally directed audio channels. The number after the first decimal, if applicable, is the number of subwoofer outputs or channels. The number after the second decimal, if applicable, is the number of height or atmospheric channels designed to immerse the listener by producing overhead sound effects.)
    • Video Pass-through: 2160 (4K), 3D (Devices with this feature allow video signals to travel from their source to a target device without alteration. For example, a receiver with 4K pass-through would allow 4K video signal from a Blu-ray player to pass to a target TV with surround sound; without the pass-through ability, the receiver would not allow both 4K video and surround sound to be transmitted simultaneously.)

Q: What is the difference between the Denen AVR-X6300H and -X7200WA? The -6300H costs less but has 11.2 capability. Why is that?

A: AC: The AVR-X6300H has an AKM DAC, model AK4458: https://www.akm.com/akm/en/file/datasheet/AK4458VN.pdf The AVR-X7200WA has a Texas Instruments PCM1690: http://www.ti.com/product/PCM1690 Construction: The AVR-X7200WA is the flagship AVR in our product line, and has the highest quality construction with symmetrical amplifier layout for improved channel separation. A triple-layer chassis for greater mechanical isolation (vs dual layer on AVR-X6300H), and a triple-layer faceplate for improved shielding (vs dual layer on AVR-X6300H). Other considerations: There are 2 additional channels of amplification in the AVR-X6300H, making it the only 11 channel amp currently available in our product lineup. To accommodate this the power supply and heatsinks have been upgraded from the AVR-X6200W. If sound quality is the primary consideration, and you don’t care about the additional 2 channels of amplification, the AVR-X7200WA is still king. If you want a 7.1.4 (11.1) Atmos/DTS:X theater, you can add an external amplifier to the AVR-X7200WA to power the main speakers, which is a better solution than taking advantage of the 11 channels of amplification built into the AVR-X6300H. The AVR-X6300H has HEOS functionality built in, allowing the network audio functions to be operated from the HEOS app and be grouped to play in sync with other HEOS wireless audio devices on your network. The bottom line: The AVR-X6300H is the most cost-effective way to build a 7.1.4 theater. The AVR-X7200WA is the better-sounding way to get there, but at a premium for both the AVR itself and the cost of an extra 2 channels of amplification. If you would like to add HEOS functionality to the AVR-X7200WA, you would need to also purchase a HEOS link.
