Admirable port of a phenomenal Wii game
Not much new to be said here since there is already a review I wrote for the Wii version , however, I can say that if you either loved the Wii version so much and would love to take it on the go, or rather you haven't played the Wii version this game is worth the price. It is wholeheartedly fun and challenging at the same time. It offers a few improvements over its Wii predecessor such as removing the motion controls for rolling in favor of a simple tap of the R button as well as the standard depth for 3D we have come to expect out of our 3DS games. There are also around 8 new levels for you to play that are entirely new for and exclusive to the 3DS. The shortcomings of this game however are purely graphical. First and foremost the game runs at 30 frames per second with dips in that number here and there when the on screen effects suh as explosions and the like happen. In addition, the game has muddier textures compared the crisp textures of the Wii version. All of these shortcomings can be overcome, and if you didn't play the Wii version than you most likely won't even notice them. All in all, Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D is an Admirable port of a phenomenal Wii game and I would go as far to say that if you have a 3DS -and are a fan of 2D platformers- this game needs to be in your library.

Great Port of a Wii Classic
The Wii game was already amazing, the 3DS port is almost as good. The frame rate can hinder you and the visuals could be better, but this is great on the go and the additions like new mode and the extra levels are fantastic. Additionally, the one major problem the Wii had, motion controls, is not present here.

Quality platformer.
First off, this game is not easy. It's a truly challenging, thoroughly thought-out platformer, that will really put your skills to the test. Very fun, great graphics, definitely recommended for DK fans or anyone who wants to feel the joy of frustration and triumph.
