    Synopsis

    Drag Me to Hell
Evil Dead director Sam Raimi takes the helm for this "spook-a-blast" shocker about an ambitious L.A. loan officer who incurs the wrath of a malevolent gypsy by refusing to grant her an extension on her home loan. Determined to impress her boss and get a much-needed promotion at work, Christine Brown (Alison Lohman) lays down the law when mysterious Mrs. Ganush (Lorna Raver) literally comes begging for mercy at her feet. In retaliation for being publicly shamed, Mrs. Ganush places the dreaded curse of the Lamia on her unfortunate target, transforming Christine's life into a waking nightmare. Her skeptical boyfriend, Clay (Justin Long), casually brushing off her disturbing encounters as mere coincidence, Christine attempts to escape eternal damnation by seeking out the aid of seer Rham Jas (Dileep Rao ). But Christine's time is fast running out, and unless she's able to break the curse, she'll be tormented by a demon for three days before literally being dragged to hell. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi

Shout Factory has some amazing collector's edition Blu-rays. Not only do they remaster the actual movie and include a ton of extra special features to most of they release it, but there's also a reversible artwork which is great for packaging nerd like myself. The movie that is included is the theatrical and the on rated version. Both are remastered beautifully and the sound is great. I remember reading something about Sam Raimi making his movie All Around The Sounds and this Edition definitely shows that very well. The sound is Chris the scares are bigger and the all-over presentation of the item is great. Pick this up for sure.

Fist off, I love this movie. Super entertaining and if you enjoy Evil Dead, pick it up. The big negative is the transfer which more or less looks exactly like the Universal release from 2009. Under an hour of new features & what is nice that instead of branching, we have both the theatrical and director’s cut on separate discs. If you are new to the movie pick it up, if you are a fan pick it up with knowing it’s largely the same as he Universal release.

This is a pretty good movie but it leaves you feeling numb. I will not spoil anything!!! I think this scary movie is probably one of the best ones that came out in recent years at the time. Horror movies have been so cliche, but this one is unique. Other than the numbness being a negative for me, I feel the packaging for the Blu-ray disappointing. If you are planning to add this movie to your digital collection then i gotta you are going to be unhappy because the digital code is expired and it will only work for Itunes and not for your Ultraviolet.

      You Gotta Love Sam

You gotta love Sam Raimy. He and his brother wrote this together and it is one strange film. If you've ever heard "premise promise", this delivers. "A loan officer ordered to evict an old woman from her home finds herself the recipient of a supernatural curse, which turns her life into a living hell. Desperate, she turns to a seer to try and save her soul, while evil forces work to push her to a breaking point." -IMDB A film that will make you laugh, and not take it seriously, until the end. It's a 2009 American supernatural horror film co-written and directed by Sam Raimi. The plot, written with his older brother Ivan, focuses on a loan officer, who, because she has to prove to her boss that she can make the "hard decisions", chooses not to extend a Romani woman's mortgage. In retaliation, the woman places a curse on the loan officer that, after three days of escalating torment, will plunge her into the depths of The lake of fire to burn for eternity.

Sam Raimi returns to horror (his first since 1992's Army of Darkness) after directing the Spider-Man trilogy is a great one. This is slick B-horror at its best. Filled with all of Sam Raimi's trademark camera work and dark humor, this is a modern classic. The unrated version offers a little extra blood and gore in a few scenes, as well as a few alternate shots that were cut from the PG-13 for one reason or another.

I first discovered the EVIL DEAD films in the mid-90s. And my understanding of movies was turned on its head. Over the years, I've filled in the gaps, watching almost all of his movies. When he took on SPIDER-MAN, I was pleased as punch. Then that franchise started to fall apart and I wondered if Sam had lost it. Cue DRAG ME... Simple, to the point, ridiculous, creepy & gory. Thanks, Sam.
