Beautiful, Powerful, Nimble and Versatile!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Dyson V7 Fluffy Cordless Stick Vacuum is a remarkably lightweight, versatile device that provides nearly effortless, but very effective, vacuuming on hard floors, walls, window blinds and furniture. It has a HEPA filter and is bagless to make it even more attractive and earth friendly. What does the Dyson V7 Fluffy Stick Vac do best? Highest grades for efficiently vacuuming hard floors, upholstered furniture, window blinds, close-weave area rugs, picking up of pet hair and crumbs from the kitchen floor, clearing cobwebs from the ceiling, dust from walls, computer keyboard and other surfaces and, bonus, serves as a great car vacuum because of its versatile cordless feature. It does all of this quietly, and with great suction and maneuverability to reach into every tight corner. The unit easily switches to a hand held vacuum with a very well-engineered, light-weight body, good grip handle, CORDLESS, I am not shouting, just did not want you to miss that wonderful feature) which makes it a go to anytime vacuum if a mess occurs. It is so user friendly! If you hate dragging out a heavy vacuum for the small clean up or finding a space to fit more equipment into a crowded closet, this great Dyson stick vacuum with its slender profile will solve that problem too. How? Because you can hang it on the wall with the beautiful charging bracket provided! Dyson Appliances was founded by Sir James Dyson in 1991 and introduced the root cyclonic (centrifugal) separation system for home vacuums. Multiple root cyclones are used to improve the dust collection efficiency and to reduce the size and weight of the vacuum. The advantage of this technology is that dust can be extracted without clogging the suction system. Other innovations incorporated in all Dyson vacuums were the bagless, clear plastic dirt collection bin, washable filters and very high rpm electric motors. While at first I did not like the idea of seeing the dirt collected in the clear plastic collection bin, ironically, it is another one of the best features…because you want to empty the collected dirt out of the bin after vacuuming rather than store the dust and dirt in your unit. PLUS, yes, another plus, with this Dyson you are not buying collection bags every few months….so it’s environmentally friendly and economical too. One reason that Dyson vacuums are so highly rated is their superb suction power. Essentially every vacuum relies on two factors to pull in dirt: speed of airflow (measured in cubic feet per minute) and suction power (measured in inches of water lifted). Airflow is generated by the RPM of the motor and suction is created by the physical size of the fan blades attached to the motor. The combination of airflow and suction power is called airwatts. (The actual formula is AirWatts = Airflow CFM x Water Lift Inches x 0.117) The very high RPM digital motors used by Dyson create high airflow which reduces the need for large fan blades and the associated big, heavy motor found in most vacuum cleaners. The Dyson V7 Fluffy generates 21 airwatts in normal mode and 100 airwatts in max power mode. A typical full-size corded upright vacuum will produce about 100 -120 airwatts and the most powerful models (like the biggest Dyson) can generate about 270 airwatts. But keep in mind that these are designed for cleaning thick carpets. For hard floors and other surfaces the suction power required for cleaning is much lower due to the fact that you do not need to pull dirt up past a dense weave of carpet fibers. The 21 airwatts in normal mode is quite sufficient for cleaning hardwood, tile and granite floors. The 100 airwatts in max mode can handle area rugs and upholstered furniture very effectively. But beyond the dull technical details, Dyson vacuums have become the premier brand not only due to their engineering superiority but also for the elegant styling which all incorporate. The Dyson V7 Fluffy is just beautiful with glossy materials, well-chosen colors and a sleek, futuristic design. If a vacuum cleaner can be a status symbol, Dyson meets the requirement. Here is a summary of the key features: • Model: Dyson V7 Fluffy Cordless Stick Vacuum • Digital V7 21.6 volt, 16.2 amp brushless motor rotates at 107,000 RPM and provides powerful suction power • Large non-slip, balanced ergonomic handle and power trigger for effortless control • 15 radial cyclones in two tiers remove all dust and never clog • Powered 20 watt direct-drive main cleaner head removes ground-in dirt with 10 inch wide cleaning path • Swivel head connection for great maneuverability • Ultra soft bristles and fibers in powered rollerhead prevent scratches on delicate wood surfaces • Includes 20 watt powered mini turbo brush head, crevice tool, combination tool, narrow brush head, 27 inch extension tube, docking station • Easily converts to compact handheld vacuum • Hepa filtration cleans air as it operates • Washable lifetime filter • Two suction power choices: 21 airwatts (Normal), 100 airwatts (Max) • 2100 mAh six cell nickel cobalt manganese battery provides 30 minutes running time, 3.5 hour recharge time and very long life • Easily removable high-impact clear dust bin, no touch dirt emptying • Dimensions: 8.2 inch height, 49 inch length (with extension tube), 9.8 inch width • Lightweight! Just 5.3 pounds! • Two year warranty on parts and labor In my condo, the floor cleaning challenges I face are a 2300 sq. ft. mix of hardwood floors, granite floors and several area rugs. There are thresholds between several of the rooms to create visual breaks or because some of the floors are at slightly different heights. I also have a sweet little Yorkshire Terrier that does not shed, but she can somehow scatter her food on the floor around her food bowls. So how well does it clean? I found that it does an outstanding job of removing dust and debris from all of the hard surfaces as well as the upholstered furniture. The powered roller head was very agile, turning easily and covered every part of the floor. The power trigger has a very soft touch and the unit turns on and off instantly, extending the battery life. Because it is so light (5.3 pounds) you can easily carry it around your home and will not be worn out when you finish vacuuming. It was impressive that it did not scatter the bits of debris on the floor as I vacuumed and it picked up everything: dust, plant leaves, crumbs, dog food. I did not need to pick up a single thing off the floor by hand - it caught it all!! Fun fact: The fluffy roller head is two colors, red and blue. The long suction stick is a very regal purple. When the roller head is in motion it turns purple like the stick body. Pure magic! The nice variety of provided accessories (crevice tool, narrow brush, powered mini roller brush and combination brush) all attach easily and firmly with the quick release catch system. They greatly enhance the versatility of the Dyson stick vac. You can throw out that old dustbuster and car vacuum that never seem to work – your new Dyson is the world’s best cordless hand vacuum! Overall, you should be very impressed by the quality of the Dyson V7 and will appreciate its ability to thoroughly and effortlessly clean in your home. Final comment, my Yorkie gives it her 100 point tail-wag of approval after seeing a spotless floor around her food bowl again!

A Floor's Best Friend
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My apartment mainly consists of laminate flooring which I had been cleaning with a Swiffer and occasionally vacuuming with a traditional upright vacuum. Even so, I still found myself stepping on food crumbs or picking up clumps of dust near the walls. The Dyson V7 with the fluffy head has solved these problems and even makes vacuuming pretty enjoyable. PROS: - The Fluffy head is perfect for any type of hard floor, including wood, tile, and laminate. Traditional upright vacuums and Swiffers have a tendency to simply push debris around rather than capture it. Dyson’s Fluffy head has a very large opening – the brush sits directly on the floor rather than a large plastic lip. This allows the Fluffy to pick up all types of debris with just one pass. After going through my entire apartment just once, I was amazed at how much dust and debris was captured in the bin. - The compact size of the Fluffy head and vacuum stick makes it easy to clean under tables, desks, and even sofas. - This particular V7 configuration comes with a generous amount of secondary tools, including: mini motorized tool; crevice tool; combination brush; and a dusting brush. These tools turn the V7 into a powerful handheld vacuum that can be used on sofas or in cars. - Fully assembled, the V7 with Fluffy head is extremely light-weight and easy to maneuver. CONS: - Battery life isn’t bad, but it’s not great either. The vacuum obviously works best on “Max” mode, but the battery only lasts about 7 minutes this way. In normal mode, it lasts just shy of 30 minutes. Acceptable for a smaller apartment like mine, but those with large homes may be disappointed. - The battery also takes a long time to recharge – almost 3.5 hours to get to 100%. - Emptying the canister is easy enough, but it seems kind of awkward to me. You have to hover the canister over your trash can or bag and use your opposite hand to force down the latch. Dyson greatly improved this in the V11 model with the “point-and-shoot” method. OVERALL: The V7 Fluffy will be a revelation for those with large areas of hard floors. Forget the brooms, Swiffers, and clunky old vacuums – this will be your new favorite cleaning tool. Yes, it’s expensive, but for someone like me who values a clean home, it’s well worth the cost. The versatility and expandability of this machine is also unmatched by any other brand. Highly recommended!

Very impressed so far...
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I own a few Dyson products, from a pure floor vacuum, to an air purifier and they always produce well made, top quality products. This V7 Fluffy is no exception (although that name...) and feels good and solid in your hand. It comes with a variety of attachments, including furniture brushes, a smaller rotating brush, the usual vent attachment and a softer brush attachment. Also included is a very convenient wall mounted charging plate. It was simple to install and the way the mounting holes are created allows you to fine tune the mount to be nice and level. A simple push up and in to connect the vacuum in there and a push up and pull out to release it. Works nicely. As for the vacuum, it comes in a nice matte blue and grey. It's solidly built, and not too heavy. Looking over the vacuum and putting it together, testing it out etc, I did have one problem with the release of the dust bucket. If you don't pull it up all the way, it can become stuck in the chamber and won't go up or down, to open the bin or go back into place. At one point I felt like I was going to break the vacuum before I'd even used it, because the dust bucket was stuck. I finally managed to free it, without breaking it, and it's been working fine ever since, so just make sure when emptying the dust bucket, to pull it all the way up (over a trash can of course) so that it doesn't jam on you. It has enough power for hardwood floors, and they brush/roller is definitely designed ONLY for smooth flat surfaces (tile/wood) and not for carpet, so don't even kid yourself this will be a carpet vacuum. On the low setting, I got about 24 mins out of the vacuum. On the high setting, that reduced it to about 9 mins. Typically, if vacuuming once a day tho, on the wood floors, you are going to be able to easily cover the area you need to on a charge. The size of it is adequate for a portable/handheld/rechargeable device, not too heavy in the hand or cumbersome. The only thing I would like to see is a dedicated 'on' button... as I found my hand getting a little tired, trying to hold the trigger and maneuver the vacuum around, especially when I was vacuuming the wood in between the spindles on the stairs. Outside of that, I am very impressed with the Dyson V7 Fluffy, it's a nice addition to my Dyson arsenal.

Fun, yes fun, Vacuum for Hard Floors
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Wow! What a great machine. This Dyson V7 Fluffy Cord-free Stick Vacuum glides smoothly across my hard floors, swiftly picking up all manner of dirt and debris I didn’t even realize was there. Assembling the vacuum was pretty straightforward, and didn’t take much time at all. Do remember to fully charge the Dyson before your first use, as the directions tell you to. Reading through the safety instructions and information contained within the Operating Manual, is important. And remember to register your new Dyson, too. The star of the show is the cleaner head, which may seem just a wee bit small, but is more than enough to do the job; and when you need to turn the head in another direction, all you do is guide the handheld part with a twist of the wrist, to keep on vacuuming. And boy, is that cleaner head soft! No, extra soft! The super soft bristles don’t feel like bristles at all, but rather, more like velvet covering the roller. It’s designed to prevent scratches to your wood (or expensive tile) floors, and of that I’ve no doubt. Along with the fluffy cleaner head, this vacuum comes with four attachments - a mini motorized tool, crevice wand, mini soft dusting brush, and combination tool - for specific cleaning jobs and those hard to reach areas. The mini motorized tool fascinated me, so I tried it out on my bed’s mattress. This attachment has some weight to it, which is nice, not being a flimsy piece of plastic. That said, it was a wee bit disturbing to see what the tool sucked up inside the dust collection chamber. But better than on my mattress. I was also pleased with the job the crevice wand did on my blinds and baseboards. Both of these can be a pain to have to clean. But by converting the stick vacuum into a handheld unit and clicking the bristled brush attachment in place of the roller head, I was able to whisk through dusting off my window blinds without any of the fuss and bother I usually experience doing this dreaded chore. And for cleaning along the baseboards, I left the stick on the handheld part then attached the crevice tool, and went to work. No more trying to sweep off the accumulated gunk with a broom, no more bending over. Dare I say, it was almost a joy to swift away the dirt and finally have clean baseboards again. Now, the dirt ejector mechanism was somewhat challenging at first, even though I followed the diagramed directions, but in short order I figured out how to empty the bin. Removing the filters and roller for cleaning was simply a matter of following the instructions in the Operating Manual - and do allow your filters and cleaner head the required time to dry. Something that bugged me a little bit was that you had to keep squeezing the “trigger” to make the vacuum ‘go.’ I’ve owned other stick-type vacuums which have a feature where you can hold the trigger down to operate the machine, or squeeze the trigger twice then release and it stays on until you turn it off. This would be a useful feature to have on this Dyson vacuum. Perhaps that can be added to future versions. The vacuum runs relatively quiet, even in comparison to the other Dyson I’ve owned, which was an upright model. However, when you turn on ‘Max’ mode the level of noise does increase, but in my opinion, still not quite as loud as any other brand of vacuum out there. I did find the purposed 20-minute running time for battery usage when using the stick vacuum and cleaner head in ‘non-Max’ mode to be relatively accurate. This was almost, but not quite, enough time to fully clean my entire house’s hard floors. However, if you use the Max suction setting several times, or for an extended period, this will severely deplete your battery’s charge. I must say, it’s nice not having to deal with a power cord. Really makes all the difference for quick and easy maneuverability around the house as you clean. And being able to have the vacuum charged and ready to go from the docking station - So convenient! Without a doubt, I can wholeheartedly recommend this Dyson V7 Fluffy Cord-free Stick Vacuum for anyone with hard surface floors, such as wood or even tile. Once again, Dyson has given us a better way to clean.

Dyson is Leading the Future with Cordless Vacuums
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have always been curious how a cordless vacuum compares to regular corded ones. Just like any “tool” there have been debates whether batteries can provide the same kick as one that gets energy from a conventional source. This Dyson V7 changes the game! PROS: - Overall this is a really nice looking piece of equipment. Out of the box it’s easy to set up as its just the attachments and there is minimal to no work in getting it to look great. - There are a few simple instructions that tell you how to operate and clean the filter, other than that you are off and running right away! - It really does a great job cleaning up my hardwood floors and I am very impressed with how portable and light it is. - The extra attachments make this very handy when getting corners, hard to reach spots, or ceilings. - Charging and putting away is very easy as well with the optional docking station. Otherwise you can just plug it in to charge. CONS: - Biggest issue of course is only 30 min run time. You wish it could be 1-2 hours but I guess it’s not made for huge jobs anyways. - Be aware this vacuum and it’s attachments are meant specifically for hardwood/tile/vinyl environments. The attachments do not perform well on the carpet but that is it’s intention. BOTTOM LINE: - If you have a house with hard floors that you constantly find yourself cleaning things up, this vacuum is a no brained. It’s easy of use, power, and simplicity will make your life very easy!

Can't go wrong with Dyson...
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We have an older DC25 and another older handheld, believe it's the V6 Top Dog and have never had any complaints. The DC25 has especially amazing considering aside from cleaning the filters we have not had a single issue with it in going on 10 years of usage. This is our first handheld from them that utilizes the tube allowing for "regular" vacuuming via a handheld model. The weight (or lack thereof) is amazing for quick tasks and to get to odd areas that would otherwise take a lot longer if you were to haul the upright out, get the tube and attachment ready, etc etc etc...this allows you to just pick it up, click in what you need, and go. The redesigned/updated bin emptying mechanism is also great. It used to be with the handheld models the bottom flap would drop open and that was it...leaving you to reach up in the bin to get any debris leftover out. Now the top filter area AND the bottom slide in opposite directions, each clearing the view-window. This allows you to easily clean the base of the filter housing and empty the bin in a single go. Not sure when Dyson made this improvement (purchased the Top Dog in late 2016), but it is very welcome. Fit and finish is as expected; amazing. Battery performance is more than acceptable in "normal" mode, but once you click it over to "MAX" you really only get a few minutes. Given the size of the collection bin if you are needing MAX power for more than that, you should really be using a different vacuum, as that isn't even remotely what this device is intended for. So I can't honestly even hold that against this vacuum. Easily recommended -- and if this isn't something that fits your needs, look through the rest of their offerings as Dyson has a vacuum for just about every occasion.

Great Power
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've been using a Dyson DC58 for years so I couldn't wait for this to arrive to compare the two. First off it's nice to have the extension tube so you don't have to bend over to use it on the floor and you have the ability to reach higher corners for cobwebs etc around ceiling AC vents and such. There is definitely an improvement in the suction. We tried a mixture of rice, some dried beans and sugar on both tile and carpet and the V7 was able to pull some of the mixture the DC58 missed in the carpet and it was quicker to clean the spill on the tile. The new process to empty/clean the canister is also a plus making it easier to clean out some of the hear that had to be manually removed on the DC58. The only "complaint" I have on the VC7 is around the tool storage capability on the charging base. In addition to the extension tube, it came with two power heads, two brushes and a wand. The charging base has two spots for storing additional tools, so if you hand the vac with the extension and a power head, you still have two tools left over you have to put somewhere. It would have been nice to have 4 storage points on the base.

Q: QuestionOn this model, will hair etc. get wound around the roller? I have 3 dogs and a lot of fluffy dog hair that goes everywhere. I’m confused as to whether there’s a rotating brush and also if it’s cleanable... and if so, how to clean it?
Asked by TexasTingle.
- A:Answer I have a golden retriever. Hair does get wound around the screws that hold the roller. There is no way to take it apart to remove the hair. I tried to use the tweezers to remove the hair and couldn't get it all. So far its still working.

Q: QuestionIs there a Dyson cordless that allows the fluffy for wood and a different attachment for carpets?
Asked by Travelras.
- A:Answer Hello there, this is Kelly with Dyson. The Dyson V7 Fluffy features our soft roller cleaner head, which was engineered specifically for bare floors. If you're looking for a machine that features this soft roller for bare floors, plus our direct-drive head with spinning brush bar for carpeting, the Absolute model would be the most beneficial, as it includes both heads in the box. Q: QuestionWhat is the CFM spec on this unit. Can you compare it with a full size plug-in model?
Asked by Flightline33.
- A:Answer Hello there, this is Kelly with Dyson. Our V7 line of cord free machines will provide you with up to 30 minutes of run time, and 100 air watts of suction power. When comparing that to our upright corded models, suction on those varies from 180-270 air watts, making their suction significantly stronger. Best wishes, Kelly Dyson Customer Support

Q: QuestionOkay, the Soft roller cleaner head sucks the battery, reducing the 30 run time to under 10 min. that's clear from the multiple reviews. my problem is pet hair. I can just go with a non -powered head -right? are they included? or is that another cost?
Asked by bajagogo.
- A:Answer Hello there, this is Kelly with Dyson. The Dyson V7 Fluffy only comes with the soft roller head. when using any type of motorized tool, run time will be less. If using your machine in MAX power, you can expect run time of up to 7 minutes, as MAX provides a boost of suction and power. When using the machine in regular power, which is sufficient for most household vacuuming, the run time with a motorized tool or attachment will be up to 20 minutes. The cord-free machines do not include, nor do we make, a non-motorized floor cleaning attachment. Best wishes, Kelly Dyson Customer Support

Q: QuestionDoes this V7 fluffy model have HEPA filter?
Asked by DebT.
- A:Answer Hello Deb, this is Kelly with Dyson. The V7 Fluffy does have a HEPA filter. You'll have two filters on this machine. The pre-motor filter is the cone-shape filter that sits inside of the cyclone, and the post-motor HEPA filter is the blue twist-on filter on the back of the machine. Q: QuestionDoes this vacuum charge on a wall mounted charger?
Asked by nhenry8048.
- A:Answer Hello there, this is Kelly with Dyson. The Dyson V7 Fluffy can be charged in one of two ways. You can use the included wall mounted dock, to store and charge your machine. The included charger will thread behind that dock, so one end of the charger plugs in to your electrical outlet, and the other end will connect in to the dock. You can also omit the dock, and just plug the charger directly in to the vacuum to charge it. Best wishes, Kelly Dyson Customer Support
