Great Alternative to a Peloton
||Posted .Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This bike has some amazing value. It’s very sturdy and the resistance options are pretty great. The only cons about the bike is the hard seat and the app requirement. I was not a fan of the seat, so I ordered a gel bike seat cover from Amazon and it’s helped quite a bit. The app requirement makes sense since the bike does not have a screen built in but you cannot change resistance unless the app is connected while in use. The app itself needs a lot of work and it feels like the subscription is it required but it’s heavily suggested. I will not buy the subscription, especially with a wonky app. But other than that, I feel like this bike is worth the money and a great alternative if you own a tablet. The value is there and the price is hard to beat!

Solid, compact and whisper quiet!
||Posted .Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed.I LOVE this bike! I originally was going to get a Peloton which a few of my friends have, however I was unsure if I would enjoy working out at home....essentially, I purchased this unit which is lower in price. The quality is excellent, it was super easy to put together and the online classes are fun and engaging! I am thrilled that I can use my own sneakers and not have to buy a special kind to fit the pedals. The bike fits into the small space I wanted to put it, facing my tv. I did have to change out the uncomfortable hard seat. I bought a $30 replacement seat and the ride is so much better. I also needed to add my own weights to the back of the bike which fit perfectly. Also a nice surprise is at the side of the tablet holder is a charging outlet. If you are on a long ride, this is a necessity! I highly recommend this spin bike. It exceeded my expectations! Now.... looking for a rower!

Damages
||Posted .Owned for 1 week when reviewed.Got this bike last week and noticed there were some dents on the frame and the flywheel. How do go about getting a replacement without bringing it back to the store? Not sure if it will affect the flywheel. The quality of the bike is excellent. I would give 5 stars if its not the damages. Also, the delivery guys wont help to bring the bike to the room. They said either outside the door or inside behind the front door.

Highly recommended
||Posted .Owned for 1 month when reviewed. All the features, very reliable, and good looking too. Bought this for my wife and I knowing that we weren't committed enough to indoor cycling to warrant a huge investment for a more expensive brand. (P-something.) We're very happy and frequent users, probably doing 4.5-5 hours a week of cycling between the 2 of us. She does online exercise classes while I stream shows on a spare 32" TV that I've positioned 3 feet in front of the bike. (For reference, I'm a semi-serious road cyclist doing 2,000 miles a year. She's not a cyclist at all and insisted on a comfortable seat. We're both happy with the bike and use this about equally.) We both benefit from the easy adjustments as there's a big size difference between the 2 of us. Only possible drawback is that this is a heavy unit - don't plan on moving it frequently. This is the right bike for us - lots of features - including some smart features (Bluetooth), yet we're not paying for a monitor or worried about early obsolescence. Take the money you saved from buying a monitor-less bike and buy an LCD TV larger than than any bike-connected monitor for half of the difference.

Great bike! The app costs more than it should.
||Posted .Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed.I really like this bike. I am currently having a squeaky pedal issue, but customer service has been helpful in resolving this problem. If you've taken CycleBar or Peloton classes, you'll find the On Demand and Live classes provided by Echelon to be a bit different. Different isn't always bad. I'm just not super impressed with the music. I wouldn't mind the music if the subscription price was less, but once my free trial is up, I will not be paying $40 a month for a subscription on a bike when I can pay Peloton $15 a month.

Decent bike at a fair price
||Posted .Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This is a good bike, at a fair price without all the bells and whistles. You’re going to get certain noises from the pedals and the a feel that the handlebars are a bit loose, but if that doesn’t bother you, then this bike will do everything you want for the price. The resistance knob isn’t the greatest, but the bike rides nice and does the job. I would say more of a 3 1/2 stars bike.

Excellent peloton alternative
||Posted .Owned for 3 months when reviewed.Excellent of a less expensive peloton option. It is super quiet and stable. The app works fine, and from about 60 workouts done as of today, for some reason it got disconnected from my phone 2 times but connected again. Lost that specific progress but not a big deal. The subscription seems expensive and i use the Peloton app in my apple TV. Assembly was fine, some help is welcomed but one person can do it in about 40 to 50 minutes.

Great Echelon bike
||Posted .Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This is first exercise bike and I truly enjoy the experience of this bike. It is a simple wonderful bike with multiple resistance capabilities with no monitor. I am able to use my iPhone to connect to the bike Bluetooth to measure the calories, time that are fundamentally required for me. Overall for the price this is worth buying compared to other priced bikes.

Q: QuestionI'm hearing that I need to use the app to make the bike work and add resistance. However, I don't plan to pay the monthly fee for access to the classes. Will I be able to use the bike if I don't register for the paid app access?
Asked by Shep.
- A:Answer No app is required to use the bike. You can just hop on and pedal if you like, including adjusting resistance. (Bike has to be plugged in for magnetic resistance, I think.) My wife and I each use our Ex3 without the manufacturer's app. She uses the Peloton app while I'm experimenting with Apple Fitness and streaming scenic rides. Without paying, you can still download the manufacturer's app and connect to the bike via built-in bluetooth in order to get your performance stats (MPH, RPMs, etc.) reported thru the app.I 'm happier just tracking the important stuff like calories burned thru my fitness watch (Apple Watch for me.)

Q: QuestionWhat is the largest size of tablet that we can fit in the EX3's built-in holder?

Q: QuestionDoes the bike work without the app? Do you need to subscribe to the service to make it work?
Asked by Drew.
- A:Answer Yes and No. The bike uses an electronic controlled positioning motor to move a magnet over the weighted wheel. There is no mechanical link from the knob to the resistance magnet. Now the foundation is made, on to the answer. Without an app you can turn the wheel and get resistance. Stop pedaling and it will go away. You can use freestyle on the app and get to a repeatable resistance. However, you need an internet connection to the app before you bluetooth connect to the bike to get your resistance setting from the app to the bike.

Q: QuestionIs it possible to attach pedals that DO require a cycling clip in cleat? I prefer cycling with my cleats and would like to install those on this bike if possible!
Asked by BriVigs.
- A:Answer This bike has pedals that are SPD compatible on one side and has cages on the other side. If you decided to use a different type of pedal (SPD-SL or Keo/Look), you could change those pedals out.

Q: QuestionCan you use the Pelton app with this bike ?
Asked by Amy.
- A:Answer Yes - my wife often does. She watches the exercise class on a TV 3 feet away from the bike. (Video is streamed from an iPad to the TV. You can also just watch on your iPad mounted on the tablet holder on the bike. What you don't get versus a Peloton bike is 2 things: 1 - camera connectivity to the Peloton servers. (The intent is to be able to see and speak with another Peloton-using friend taking the same class.) We don't miss this at all, as we exercise solo at ^;30 in the morning. 2- a data link between the bike and the Peloton app to record your health and class stats. (So you'll never be on a Peloton leaderboard with this bike.) We don't miss either of these features, and happy with our purchase.
