A: With the default settings, it only shows an image or when it tarts up or when in reverse.

A: check on line. Next dase cameras don't come with a manuel either ,go to company's web site to check on manuel
Q: Do I HAVE to install the rear license plate camera alongside the mirror camera?
A: Alongside? U can just use the front dash camera.
A: There is no in cab view with this unit. the front camera faces out the windshield to record what is in front of you and the rear camera is mounted on the rear of the vehicle to be used as a reverse camera as well as record behind you.
Q: In reverse camera flashes stop and goes off when brake applied

A: If you have Onstar built into your mirror you will be blocking those buttons if you add this mirror. If you do not have Onstar there wouldn't be any issue with using this kit.
