Great Upgrade
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Retired my 8 year old Ecovac with this T9 model. Absolutely love that it mapped to house effortlessly, can vacuum and mop at the same time. Battery level is amazing for my 2200 sqft home. Transitions from hardwood floor to tile to bathroom carpets effortlessly. Also ablento clean underneath the beds with ease. The auto cleaning and aroma feature is also very convenient. Excellent product for the price.

A large leap over my previous robovacs.
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've gone through most of the major robovac manufacturers. While I loved Neato's robot shape and performance I needed more and landed on the Ecovacs N8+. Between the self-emptying and the dust mop, I thought most of my needs were met. The Ecovacs mapping app can use quite a bit of work when it comes to separating rooms out but it was livable. Eventually it was time to replace and while the T8, when I got the N8, was out of my price range I decided to go a little further and instead of the N10, I picked up the T9 and I haven't been happier. It's a lot better than my N8 in almost every respect but balance demands Pros and Cons. - It got a 4/5 from me because when I bought it the T20 and X1 existed but were a little more expensive than I wanted to spend and they were objectively better - AIVI does a better job detecting objects on a solid floor vs carpet. It ate a 2x1 LEGO brick on medium pile carpet, but consistently drove around an M&M on the tiled dining room floor. If everything is picked up and I want to make sure it gets *everything* then I turn off object detection. - The rubber flap at the front of the rotating brush can actually prevent small and lightweight object, popcorn, from being picked up. But the suction is incredible. - The air freshener stopped being noticeable after a couple of weeks. - The vibrating mopping pad is beyond awesome.

Needs a push back home
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great vacuum and spot mop has issues finding its way back to its base but does a great job at vacuuming and navigating the house amazing on carpet and tile.

Amazing! Well worth the investment.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Life changing. My living/dining/kitchen would take a very long time to manually vac or mop. Huge time saver. More actuate than I could do with the mapping technology. The only caveat is the moping function isn’t for deep cleaning, but more for touch ups in between proper manual mopping. It also says only to use water but that’s not really suffice for disinfecting floors.

This is DEE!! robot for hard floors!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.THIS… Is Ecovacs Debot 9+ and it is around the middle range when it comes to Ecovacs portfolio of cleaning robots, but that doesn’t mean it gives middle-of-the-pack results! Wrapped in white plastic, the Debot 9+ (we shall just call it Debot moving forward) is quite the multi-use robot, being able to both Mop and vacuum at the same time! As always there are caveats and pitfalls, but let's see how it stacks up to the competition and see JUST how well the Debot 9+ will fit into my cleaning regimen. How Private is your data with Debot ============================== Debot has said that all the information regarding your house and your robot NEVER leaves the robot, and with cameras/sensors scanning your home when you are and are not there it is important to make sure your data cant be accessed to compromise your home so it was nice to see that Debot is keeping all the data inside of your home and none is, at least according to Debot, accessible to anyone else but you. Setup =============== The setup for the Debot 9+ was relatively routine, find a place that you want your base station (where your robot will always return to) fits and is near an outlet (the power cord is about 5’) and plug it in! If you are placing it on a carpeted surface (which I do not recommend but we will get into that later) then it has an attachment for the station that allows the Debot to move easier from the docking station off. Once you get the docking station placed as well as the robot placed on the docking station, then the app guides you through a setup for an account where you have to scan the robot and send it on its first mission! To map your house! After that, you have pretty much set it up, nothing glamorous but also it didn’t need to be. Appearance =============== I have to say, when I typically buy robots and the likes I am more of a black finish type of person (matt black everything gang, however, the white on this is really nice and hasn’t shown dirt or wear at all like I would be worried about. The plastic is a really nice feel and everything fits and feels like it is meant to last. I would say it is absolutely comparable to my (double the price) iRobot vacuum cleaners as well. I am quite surprised and happy with how this is built. Obstacle Avoidance =============== As with every cleaning robot, it is going to have to avoid the obstacles of everyday life! Shoes, dog toys, ottomans, and everything else moves around your house… so your Debot should move around them! My experience with the Debot was very pleasurable and I can say for sure that the only issue I had in terms of obstacle avoidance was that some of the clumps of string from my dog's ropes are still going to get sucked up and tangled… but no cleaning robot has been able to solve that riddle so I can’t fault my Debot there. The execution on everything movement has been really well executed by the Debot! App =============== This…THIS is where it gets interesting. There are things here I have seen before from other brands such as scheduled runs, adjusting the power and whatnot… and then there are some really interesting things I have seen featured on the Debot that I haven't seen anywhere else so I will highlight them. -Ability to double clean on the same job -tells you when it is tanged -tells you when to replace the mop pads (pre-set time that is adjustable) -shows the wear and tear on the machine and what needs to be replaced (pictured at the end) -On higher-end models you can use the camera on the robot to go around the house looking -a ‘deep clean’ mode that REALLY works the floors up -Can clean an individual room or adjustable zone on the map it makes. The Debot app is just absolutely well executed with one minor caveat - if you change WIFI names, you kinda have to ‘reset’ your Debot and it is super quick (less than 5 min) but when I did it, it was somewhat more nuanced than it should have been, or at least was for me. It was also a very well laid out process so I was never confused, just a few more steps than it could have been. How loud is it =============== Mine never got louder than 64db at my house, even on MAX and when it was emptying the waste bin. This was my biggest issue with my iRobot is that on its docking station, it sounded like a jet taxiing for takeoff in my living room, whereas this is just a mild rumble that I could easily not hear a few rooms over. I still keep my vacuum off the MAX setting and just to the second highest, this way I can still carry out a conversation should it come into the room. Easily a very quiet machine. Magnetic Boundary Strip =============== This is something that I did not test, however, wanted to point to it as I find it really interesting! Ecovacs offers a magnetic strip to keep the robot away from some areas altogether which really intrigues me with dogs. I will be purchasing this and leaving a comment under this with my thoughts on it, but the ability to keep it away from my pets food/water is phenomenal and I am sure you can find a reason to throw this down as well! Mopping Performance =============== I have to say, for also being a vacuum I really enjoyed how well this mopped. It was on accident either, it vacuums first and then sprays the water down and then mops in a 3 stage ordeal which I like substantially more than my iRobot M6 on the premises that my M6 sprays out in a very uncontrolled manner around my dog's water and toys and I always worry that they consume the chemicals, whereas this sprays it straight down to the floor. Yes, there are tradeoffs and you certainly get less spread with this method but I just turn up the amount of fluid it is putting out and have accepted this uptick in cost in terms of safety for my dogs. This was a huge +1 for my Debot. Outside of HOW it mops, it mops a little bit better than a Swiffer but nothing deep clean. I can say that I never walked into my house and saw dirt that it couldn’t tackle as well. I would say that this mop can hold its own against all but those that use steam and I would rate this in the upper echelon of robot mops… and it also Vacuums! Vacuum Performance =============== Now, we can get into the numbers on how well this sucks and blows, but lets skip the formalities and get straight to the meat here. This thing SUCKS… I don’t have much carpet but it left some CLEAN lines on my carpet when it does. I would say it has almost completely replaced my dyson, unless I need to deep clean and I need that extra sucking power, otherwise the vacuum really holds its own and on my hardwood floors it is simply the all in one solution. Truly makes me rethink why I spent so much on my other robots! How well does the Scent Pod work? ============================== This was something that I was quite disappointed in, the scent pod was quite the gimmick. I couldn't smell it, not even kinda! I tried to huff the fumes that my beloved T9+ was spitting out and unfortunately, it was a lot of things that didn’t resemble Cucumber & Oak. I hardly use the regular vacuum attachment regardless so I am not really missing out, however, was a bummer to see it not work at all. Things to know =============== You cannot use the scent and the mop at the same time, the back of the robot has a slot where the vacuum is either mopping or vacuuming and you can switch it out at any time. It can vacuum while it mops, just only on hardwood and not on a carpeted surface. The Robot Vacuum comes standard with a voice that will guide you, you CAN turn it off should you not like it. Ecovacs have made this setup very modular in the sense that should anything need to be replaced at any point in time, it is really simple to swap it out. Conclusion =============== I want to leave off with this as a special +1 for products that deliver in such a great method, this is the perfect home cleaning robot for hardwood/laminate type flooring. Unless you have really high (like high enough you have to think about it) transitions between rooms then there is really no reason to not purchase this. Yes, it is somewhat annoying to swap out the mopping for the vacuum for the carpet and personally, I would just recommend you look elsewhere if that is going to be a hassle because this is meant for more hard flooring areas and homes in my opinion. It does what it does really well, and the switching between one and the other would simply be too much for me as I would have to decide if I was to vacuum my floors or carpet and this is meant to take the thinking out of cleaning. I had almost given up on cleaning where my dog door is as my dogs are constantly in and out (and also big dogs too) and it was just constant mopping and vacuuming and the Debot has literally saved my sanity as I can just tell it to go clean that ‘room’ individually a couple of times a day on the double clean setting and I come home like I just left! Cost of replenishable =============== Vacuum bags pack of 3 and 3 Air Freshener: $35.98 Vacuum bags pack of 6: $35:98 Cleaning Solution 2L: $44.98 Mop pads (disposable) 25 pack: $29.99 Mop pads (reusable): $34.99 Scent refill pack of 3 - $19.99 Air Filters 2pc: $14.99 Estimated Cost Per year to run (I will not be taking into account the air freshener): -Mop pads (reusable): $34.99 (one-time purchase) -Vacuum bags pack of 6: $35:98 (I have estimated mine to be one per month so this is x2 -Cleaning Solution 2L: $44.98 I use about .5L per month on the cleaning solution (I use more than avg, mostly hardwood flooring) -Air Filters 2pc: $14.99 Ecovacs recommends changing these every 2-3 months so that's 4 times a year My FIRST Annual cost to run: $271.87 (235.89 if you take the mop pads out) This is an estimate and you can always swap out different things that are cheaper, personally I use the swifter hardwood fluid for their jets in all my robot mops with zero issues. Open the top and it is all the same :)

One of the better SmartVacs I've used
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've owned a couple robot vacuums and each of them, while convenient and good, lacked something that either made them not quite good enough or had some design flaw that I just didn't like. After trying this EcoVacs Deebot 9+, pretty confident in saying that this is one of the better ones I've used. It's versatile in that it vacuums and does light mopping as well as auto-empty features and a usable companion app all make for a really nice "smart" vacuum. I live in a condo so my place is limited in terms of square feet. That said, this little vac can handle cleaning for my place without me so much as lifting a finger which is nice. Like most other smart vacs, the footprint on this is relatively small. Doesn't take up a whole lot of space and can fit just about anywhere really so no concerns about that. Included with the packages is the vacuum, base station as well as some accessories. I would like to shout out EcoVacs here for a really nice job on the packaging. Everything is very well packaged in its own little box and just looks really nice. Setup is fairly straightforward. Download the companion app on either iOS/Android to begin the setup. There are QR codes everywhere in the box/packaging so simply scan that and you can get started. After charging up my vac, I let it run an "auto" job to get the lay of the land in my place. One of the big negatives I have is that I wished the companion app had a VR capability where you can visually scan the floor of your place with the phone and then have the vacuum follow those boundaries. I've seen it on other vacs and thing that's a really convenient feature to have. That said, after about an hour or so, the vacuum job was done. I have mostly hardwood floors with carpeted bedrooms but the floor was much cleaner after the first run. That and you could see the vacuum lines in my carpeting which was pleasant to see as well. One of the bigger surprises for me was how quiet the vacuum was. On average, it was operating around the 60-70db mark which is about as loud as a normal conversation. When working on carpet or sometimes navigating around, the motor will kick into higher gear making it a bit louder but, overall, it was quiet and I barely noticed it while it was running. Once completed, the vacuum auto-emptied itself into the base station and that was it. I will say that the process of emptying the vac is pretty quiet comparatively. I had one smart vac that sounded like a jet engine whenever it emptied out its bin. This one is loud but not too annoyingly loud. After a few hours, the map the vacuum had generated, converted itself into a 3D map in the app. From here, you can save the map, carve out specific rooms where you can tell the vacuum to clean just those rooms. You can even modify the map with icons of furniture or other household appliances to better aid the robot in cleaning. Here was an issue I noted with this feature in that editing the map is a cumbersome and inaccurate. You're able to extend walls, for example, in the map but it's very tricky to do so and it doesn't always work. Seems like you need a stylus to do this as the touchscreen wasn't as responsive as one would've hoped. I'm using an iPhone 14 Pro Max and I had lots of trouble trying to edit the map so eventually I just gave up. The mopping feature on this is pretty good. In the app, you can specify a normal vacuum run or a mopping run. Once you've setup the map then you can simply highlight which areas to mop and you're good. The vacuum comes with the mop attachment which snaps onto the back of the unit as well as some wet pads to use. In terms of mopping, this isn't going to get that deep down mopping like you would with a mop/bucket. This mopping is pretty much just wiping a damp rag on your floor. That said, it's good at that since it did do a pretty good job with wiping down the floor. The mopping attachment has a reservoir where you can pour in cleaner to maximize the cleaning the mopping does. Overall, I think this is a great little auto-vac. It does a great job at light vacuuming on carpets and works well on hardwood/tile surfaces, is relatively quiet and can mop your floor as well. Really, the only things I didn't like about this vac were minor from the functionality of the app to the robot sometimes getting trapped on small obstacles. I have one of those adjustable height laptop stands next to my couch and the legs on that are just metal bars. The vacuum tried to go over them but got stuck throwing an error message on my phone. Not major but just kind of an irritation really.

Solid among many competitors
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This robot vacuum has been a great addition to my cleaning equipment at home. I have used other robot vacuums and know what I like and dislike and this one is definitely one that checks all my boxes. One thing that is a must vs other models I have used is the self emptying capability. An other older I had did not have this function and since having this capability I would not have it any other way. Its a time saver too as the internal bag that fills as it empties seems to be pretty large too, and I havent had to empty it yet since setting up the vacuum a little over a week ago. The set up is quick and easy too, by simply scanning a QR code and pairing to your wifi. One thing that I do wish that this model had is the video manager feature, in other words the capability to see video of where the unit is in your home when its cleaning. Nevertheless, this model is still an awesome add. It does not run very loudly either vs other robot vacuums which was a pleasant surprise. All in all if you are looking for a quality robot vacuum with an easy to use companion app then I would highly recommend this model as it certainly checks all the boxes!
