My children had never seen Elf so this year we decided to watch it. Three teens and myself watched this show. We all agreed that it lived up to the test of time and it's a classic comedy. Elf is about a young baby that is dropped off on a doorstep and ends up in Santa's workshop living as a very tall elf. After some time it is agreed he will go out in the world and meet his real dad and real mother. So off he goes to New York City. There his childlike innocence is delightful and it gets him into trouble in variety of ways. Over time he learns and even finds someone to love and he teaches others the joys of Christmas. Will Ferrell did a great job and I can't imagine anyone more perfect for the part. This is a funny, cute, charming little show. It is going to be one we watch again and again in years to come.

I already owned this on DVD which we had prettty much had worn out over the last 11 years. Having purchased a Blu-ray player last year, I have been rebuilding my movie collection. Even though my Blu-ray player does an excellent job of upgrading DVDs to near blu-ray quality on my 50" screen, this was a great improvement in picture quality over our nearly worn out DVD from 2004. Definitely worth the money to upgrade. Elf is one of my family's favorite Christmas movies. My daughter loved it as a child and now she shares the watching enjoyment with her two daughters. It has definitely become one of the classic must-watch Christmas movies.

    Awesome Christmas Movie

Elf is the perfect movie for the holidays. It touches on believing in Santa, and all the important things about the Christmas holiday. The laughs are done really well in this movie, and it will definitely have you laughing all the way through. However this movie also holds it's own with the classics of Christmas movies, as one that is here to stay. The story is filled with Christmas spirit, and was written by the same person who was the main character in A Christmas Story. If you like holiday movies, you will love this movie, and likely end up watching it a few times around the holidays every year. But it's a great movie during the year, just because Will Ferrell is so hilarious.

Quirky, over the top performance by Will Ferrel make this a funny movie worth watching. James Caan is also great as the straight man to Ferrel's craziness. Even with the great performances I feel it still could have been better. The section with Santa's sleigh breaking down and the 'evil' central park rangers didn't work well for me. Overall I would still recommend checking it out. Blu-Ray is pretty basic with no DVD or Digital options

    DOES NOT CONTAIN DIGITAL COPY

I went to my local Best Buy store and asked an associate to help me find the Blu-Ray/Digital Copy of Elf. He found this item on the shelf, but I pointed out that it does not say digital copy on the cover. He went into his system and compared product and SKU numbers, and they matched this item. When I got home, there was no digital copy code to be found. This is just a Blu-Ray. Best Buy should update their description on their website.

    Lots of Fun

Will Ferrell is irresistible. He knows exactly how to please his target audience, and in this case, it's a family film. He plays an elf Buddy, who was left in the North Pole and raised by elves only to discover and give in to his being 'different' and ravages off into the human world to find his real father. Explaining the story itself may not be appealing, because the plot itself is a bit sappy. But the things that happen along the way and all the laughs brought on and smiles provoked is what makes this film so enjoyable. Two thumbs up, five star buy.

Seriously...Elf charmed it's way into the hardest of hearts. I was actually dissapointed with myself for not owning this movie on bluray until Christmas of 2016. Do yourself a favor, buy this movie on bluray. If you love a movie and want to continue to watch it traditionally, make sure to buy it on any new video format to keep that movie restored to its best value. If you havn't seen this movie, it's perfect for the whole family. An instant christmas classic!

Of course this movie is a classic Christmas movie. The only issue I have is that the dang "digital version" of the movie is only accessible through the Ultra Violet system/app. My family is all Apple/iOS and this means we can't just pull it up on the Apple TV and the kids (7 year old boy and 3 year old girl) will literally never watch it on their device because it isn't accessible on the "TV" app (formerly Videos app.) Super annoying!
