A: You can use any tripod that supports a standard 1/4 inch. I prefer Manfrotto tripods. But any brand should work just fine.
Q: How wide is the clamp? I would need it to open 6 inches to fit on my desk.
A: Just an inch or 2 wide. Very slim
Q: can i put a Logitech C920 webcam on the mount or would it not hold it?
A: Yes. It has the exact size screw for the thread of the c920. I have a C922 that I mount on the ring light.
A: Yes, the light can mount to a standard tripod mount plate. That is how I use it currently. The bottom of the light has standard 1/4-20 UNC threads (as does the camera mount in the light).
