Happy Overall|Posted .I would recommend this to a friend
I needed a smaller all-in-one printer that printed text and photos very well. This printer does both and I'm delighted with that. I love the duplex feature as I do a lot of document printing as well as photos, so I need a good all-around printer. I also really like the CD/DVD printer--it does a great job and that is a bonus for me. My issues are around instructions on how to use the printer and the design of the paper trays, especially the fact that you have to open up the main tray, pull out the output tray and push them back in every time you print. And the tray holds very little paper which is a pain when printing larger jobs. I'm not too happy with the envelope printing and the instructions to print onto CD/DVD's were not good, but I figured it out anyway. The printer is also a bit noisy at first which I'm not used to. But it only lasts a few seconds until it gets adjusted to print. I'm still on my first ink cartridges and need to purchase more soon. The cartridges are about on par with other printers I've used as far as cost is concerned. I also use the Copy feature quite a bit and it works just fine. I've made custom greeting cards with this printer and the set up for that was time consuming and did not work according to the directions. But I worked around that, too, after I'd wasted some precious card stock . Next time, I'll print on plain paper until I get things right. The final product was beautiful, however. The instructions for printing photos was not all that good. Printing photos was a disaster at first because this printer requires all the paper stock, whether photo, card or plain, to be inserted face down instead of face up which all my other printers did. So I wasted several pieces of photo paper as I printed on the wrong side. Finally hit me what was going on and once I corrected it, photos were beautiful. But I saw nothing in the instructions about how to insert the paper. Maybe I missed something, but this should be in BOLD print. All in all, I'm pleased with this printer. Don't know how long it will last, but it is working just great after I figured out all its quirks, and I've had it for almost 1 month and have put it through its paces. It's the second Epson I've owned --my first printer was an Epson and it lasted quite a long time. Hope I'm as fortunate this time.

Perfect for home photo printing|Posted .I would recommend this to a friend
My wife and I are amateur photographers. We take a great deal of satisfaction in the entire process including printing of very high quality prints. So, image quality is our number one priority. This. Printer. Delivers. Our second priority is the cost of ink. The Epson XP-610 uses individual color inks, 4+1. All cartridges are available in XL size. I can't tell you how many prints you will get. Obviously that would depend on what you are printing, and at what quality level. Here's what I can tell you. The printer comes with what appear to be standard cartridges. (Some companies "setup cartridges" only contain half, or less, of a full cartridge). I think Epson supplies full (standard) cartridges. I say this because we have printed (15) 4x6, (15) 5x7, (2) 8x10 photos. All photos in highest quality on high gloss photo paper. 100+ pages of documents, with about 45 percent of them having color elements. I have yet to replace a single cartridge. Today, I did get a warning that the yellow cartridge is low. I'm good with that. Auto-duplexing also offers additional cost savings. Software installed easily and included software enabling the printing of photos from mobile devices. So what's not to like.

good for the price|Posted .I would recommend this to a friend
We didn't need something fancy, just a printer to be able to print documents out here and there, and maybe some pictures once in a while. Other reviewers who commented on the "flimsiness" of the product were right - it is something you have to be careful with. The overall quality of the printing is great, the price was awesome, set up was a breeze. Printing wirelessly from a phone or tablet is awesome! I just wish it would turn itself on when you needed to print. The only con I'd say is the fact that figuring out where the paper goes and what trays need to be in or out, is sometimes confusing. I'd recommend this if you're looking for a economical printer that you wont use very heavily (meaning running 100 copies or pages per week).

Great Printer for the Price|Posted .I would recommend this to a friend
When the ink cartridges ran out for our old printer, we decided it would be just as cost effective to shop a new printer than replace the ink. We don't use our home printer extensively, but there is quite a variety in the things we end up printing, so we wanted a printer that would handle a variety of jobs that we would need. In weighing the options, this Epson looked to deliver the best bang for the buck. It is much faster than its HP counterparts and seemed to offer a variety of features that interested us. Furthermore, it was small and compact, unlike the behemoth Cannons. In taking it home, the setup was quick and easy; I had it printing in minutes. The color display is crystal clear and easy to use. It prints more quickly than our old HP and everything we print looks great. The wireless printing feature practically set itself up the first time my wife went to print from her laptop. It's even a lot less noisy than what we had before. The only thing I don't like is the way the various trays are set up in the front. It takes a little effort to familiarize yourself with what tray is used with what, when it needs to be used, etc. It is fairly intuitive, but the trays are a little flimsy and can push in too far and get stuck a little, which is annoying. It just takes some getting used to. Overall, I don't think I could have come home with a better printer for the money. The quality is far above those that were at about the same price point and it has worked perfectly for us so far.

Perfect Printer|Posted .I would recommend this to a friend
My printer suddenly decided to give up the ghost just when I needed it to print some important papers. Not only did Best Buy deliver quickly (in 2 days flat without paying for extra shipping charges), the printer went together easily. But then... I needed help, it stopped printing properly for no reason. I called the Geek Squad for help and they were fantastic! They helped me solve the problem on the phone and were very nice considering I am probably not the easiest person to deal with, being a fairly neo-phyte techie. The printer was NOT the problem, I switched 2 things on it and just had to reverse them, problem solved. It prints beautifully!! Prints from an SD Card and flashdrive too. My only suggestion is to buy a full set of ink cartridges when you purchase it or immediately after. The ink carts that come with it are only to setup the printer and have little ink to spare after setup. ENJOY!!! Best non-Pro printer I've ever worked with.

Great wireless printer|Posted .I would recommend this to a friend
Let me start off by saying, I had one Epson printer which had horrible print quality and it went in the trash - so I wasn't even considering this brand. I started off only shopping for an HP printer; I've had 2 great HP printers and the 7 year old one still works but it's not wireless.. So why Epson? Not the best reviews on other brands. I wanted a wireless printer with multiple color cartridges and this fit the bill with good reviews. I've been really pleased so far. It was a snap to connect to my wireless network - inset the CD into the PC and it found my network without me having to key in the password. I've done one update to the software and it took forever to install. Printing from my iPad is easy, I use the Apple AirPrint. The quality of the printing on draft setting is outstanding. I've used the scan feature once and am disappointed to find that because there's no built in OCR I can't edit the scan (hope I said that right), but I suspect it's that way for all the printers which include scanning capability. The paper tray is not easy to even find and then I had to set it up for letter sized paper instead of it being shipped that way. Overall I'm glad I purchased this particular printer.

A great little printer|Posted .I would recommend this to a friend
Researched many printers in this price range and decided on this one after some reviews. I also was looking for a different brand from my previous printer, which I had quite a few issues with. Installation was simple and the printer connected to my network in a snap. The features are nice. Not sure if I will use them all ie. cd print. I have all my peripherals connected such as my laptop, tablets, and phone. They all work flawlessly. The print quality is great. So far the ink usage is better than average, comparing with previous printers I have owned. Only issue which is not an issue for me is the printer speed. I use this printer at home for personal use so speed isn't important to me. If you do a lot of printing and need the prints right away you may want to look for another model. All in all a great printer when you get it on sale.
