Great little projector!
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After researching several projectors in the $500-$800 price range, I decided to go with Epson for the 3lcd technology, and low replacement bulb cost. The BenQ 671ST was definitely in the running, because I wanted something that could project a 150" screen from within 12' away. The BenQ was about the same price, but the bulb replacement was easily twice the cost of Epson's. Both projector models are a few years old, And a few old reviews mentioned a price nearly $200 cheaper than they are going for currently, so I decided to wait. Then the Epson went on sale on my birthday. So I took the plunge. The Epson 1060 does not disappoint! I don't have a screen built yet so I had set it up to project on my home office wall which is a semigloss gray. In Eco mode was plenty bright and clear at 80". I've moved it to my living room now and it laughs at the Terracotta wall, projecting a 150" image. I had to boost the brightness to 65% in eco mode, but the orang wall doesn't appear to be affecting colors too much. Whites are amazingly white, Blues are as Blue as Best Buy's banner. I mostly play console games with this so I was concerned that the refresh would not be up to it, but I've not seen any issues with lag at all. My only complaint with this projector is the inexplicable lack of a lighted keypad on the remote. Wait for it to go on sale again and buy this!

Great projector for the price
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you are looking for a good outdoor projector that is bright and can give you a 200” display then this one is for you. I’ve been using this projector outdoors and have been watching movies on my garage door. The garage door is not an ideal screen but it’s white so why not. The projector is bright at 3200 lumens and is 1080p so the clarity is good. It isn’t 4K clear so just don’t sit so close to the screen as you will see the LCD pixels. I have my projector about 13’ away and I get about 170” screen. This projector is a great buy for the cost.

Awesome entry-level projector
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It wasn't the model that I researched but it met most of my criteria and was on sale for $550. I was hesitant to buy this, mostly because of Best Buy's ridiculous restocking fee, but I'm glad I did. I use this mostly to watch sling, netflix, hulu, and play xbox. Pros: 2 HDMI inputs 1080p Easy to aim with quick corner Quiet and lightweight Cons: No audio out Fan runs non stop Cheap and wobbly front adjustment foot Owners manual is on a CD Overall I think this is a great projector for anyone that wants a big screen experience for the price of a smaller flat screen.

So happy with this purchase!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Let me begin by saying...I hate researching products. But when I decided to get a home projector for outdoor use I decided to educate myself on projectors so I could decide what was right for my use. I purchased this because my son was turning 13. With Covid, a traditional birthday party was out of the question. We decided he could invite a few friends over on his birthday for an outdoor movie night. He wasn't thrilled with this idea (we have watched so many movies during Covid lockdown) but he changed his tune when he asked if he could connect his Nintendo Switch to the projector and if they could play video games before the movie. "Absolutely", was my answer. My priority for a projector was to have one that I didn't need total darkness to see the projection (video games + movie = long night). I wanted high lumens with a quality picture at an affordable price. After a lot of internal stress (remember, I hate researching products...) I decided on the Epson Home Cinema 1060 and am SO happy with this purchase. The boys came over at 5pm and after a little outdoor play and fast food burgers they were ready to play games. My son hooked up his Nintendo at 6pm in the middle of September and they were able to play video games on it. I was amazed that we could see the projection while it was still mostly daylight. Keep in mind, the screen was on the garage door, which made it a little shaded...but it worked. Since I didn't want to deal with WiFi connection issues outside, I downloaded the movie to my iPhone and used a lightning to HDMI connector to connect to the projector. I then used a bluetooth speaker connected to my iPhone for sound. That being said, this projector has a nice speaker on it. Would be perfect for an inside movie but since we were outside with teenagers, the bluetooth speaker helped. When parents picked up they were amazed at the quality of the picture (boys were back to playing video games). I would highly recommend this to anyone who wants an amazing projector but doesn't want to spend thousands of dollars. (Please ignore the headless teen in the picture...tech is not my strongpoint and when trying to blur out faces the whole head came off). hehe

Great projector for the price!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Obviously, it looks better in pitch black, but still looks great in the day with a little daylight coming in! Also, good, sharp Full HD quality. It would be nice to have 4K for my 120” screen, but I can’t argue the quality for the price.

Bang for your Buck
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For a $500 starter projector this has exceeded my expectations. Great picture quality, bright and vibrant colors. I had a limited budget to get a projector, a screen and a sound system so I chose the Epson 1060 for the price to stay within my budget. I wasn't expecting much and planned on this just getting me by until I could afford a better projector but this is great for a home theater. I recommend this to anyone that wants a good projector without the hefty price tag.

Q: QuestionMy Epson home Cinema 1060 will no longer power on. Does this mean the bulb is blown out? Or is there some other problem?
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer It’s likely a failed power supply. Mine did it about a month ago. Call Epson and they can get you a replacement.

Q: QuestionMy projector has began to flicker when on ECO mode. I've been using this project for about 7 months now—the family usually usually uses it about 3 to 4 hours a day. Is this a sign the bulb is needing to be replaced or something else?
Asked by Trevor.
- A:Answer I've had the same issue with my 1060 and I bought mine in August of last year. No where near the max hours for a typical bulb and mine starts flickering after a while now in ECO mode. From what I have read through research is that it's a problem with the ECO mode in these projectors. It doesn't provide the right amount of power needed for the bulb to operate consistently. I'm thinking there is some truth to that because if you take it out of ECO mode and put it into Normal mode, the problem goes away. Kind of annoying because ECO mode is plenty of light in my opinion and I don't like the higher fan noise in normal mode.

Q: QuestionWhat is the maximum distance for this projector? I have a 120" screen. Setting the screen on one side of my pool and want to make sure the projector can display the distance across.
Asked by JoeM.
- A:Answer To answer your question, I need to know if you're measuring screen width from side to side or diagonally (from one corner to the opposite corner.) Assuming width is from left side to right side, the projector set-back is found by multiplying the screen width by the throw ratio of the projector. This projector has a throw ratio of 1.35 to 1.64, So to produce a picture 120" wide (10 feet) the projector has to be 13.5 to 16.4 feet from the screen. On the other had, if you're screen measure is diagonal, you need to look at the width to height ratio to figure true screen width. As most video screens today are a 16:9 ratio, your magic number is 0.872. Multiply your diagonal screen width by that number, then multiply by the throw ratio: 10' x 0.872 x 1.35 = 11.7' minimum, 10' x 0.872 x 1.64 = 14.3' maximum. If you're using the older, original TV format ratio of 4:3. the magic number is 0.8 for a minimum and maximum distance of 10.8' to 13.1'.

Q: QuestionI’m trying to hook up a firestick to the projector and also to my surround sound help
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer 1. Buy a HDMI audio splitter. Firestick plugs into splitter. Splitter to projector using HDMI cable. Splitter to receiver or sound bar using optical or coax digital audio cable. 2. Firestick has built in Bluetooth. You can connect to a Bluetooth receiver which connects to your home theater. 3. Use Bluetooth capability of Firestick to connect to a Bluetooth speaker. Connect "headphone out" of Bluetooth speaker to input of your receiver or sound bar using an earphone to RCA cable.

Q: QuestionI just ordered this projector. I have a ps4 and a direct tv box. Both of which use HDMI. I also ordered a surround sound system for this projector which came with a blue ray player. My question is, how do I hookup so that surround sound and direct tv work
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer Well you might need a multi hdmi splitter where that is hooked up to the projector and then your components are hooked up the the splitter. In my case I have my surround sound set up with a pioneer receiver which has 4 hdmi outputs and 1 hdmi input. So the 1 input plugs into the projector then your components plug in to the receiver. Hope I didn’t confuse you.
